The idiots printed it backwards.

Well, the normal orientation for a U.S. flag when displayed vertically is the mirror image of that when displayed horizontally, so it must be right for one orientation or the other.

I'm currently working on a 4-page version [the blue field will fill one page precisely, so there will only be one seam that doesn't correspond to a boundary between two colors (as in the table below)

That's a problem I've encountered all over town recently. One store displayed the Flag improperly by hanging it in the window vertically, but the blue field was on the wrong side. The local paper gave out a two page printed flag to display, but it's only a one sided print, so one is limited in how to display it. It's printed in the traditional horizontal, blue field to the upper left as one looks at it. But there's no way to properly display it vertically.

But there's no way to properly display it vertically.

Well, if I finish my 4-page design, it will be possible to hang even a single-sided printout properly in either horizontal or vertical orientation depending upon how it's assembled.

orientation

When "viewing" the flag the field is always on the left (think of it as your heart pointing towards it)
You can print a flag backward and tape it to the inside of a window and it's correct when its viewed from outside.

Am I the only one feeling annoyed about the flags? We've got tons of them here, and I love it. But no one is taking them in at night, the flags have been getting rained upon and I have only seen ONE vertically hanging flag which is hanging the right way, out of about 10.

Maybe it's petty, and I am glad that they feel patriotic enough to fly it, but I wish they'd care enough to do it right.

Unfortunately, my paint program won't save as .GIF, and .JPG wouldn't be a great format for solid-color things like flags, so I saved the files .BMP and stored them in a .ZIP. I've never before seen such compression out of .ZIP; 1.42megs down to 10K. >:*3 Anyway, here's the file: flag.zip Let me know if it works for you.

I saw a guy tacking red and blue, plastic, picnic plates onto his white garage. Looked pretty good from a distance! American ingenuity..gotta love it.
