Macedonian Interior Ministry top official Zoran Drndarovski said there were evidences of Osama bin Laden's fighters' participation in terrorist actions in Macedonia's north and west, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
Speaking on the Radio Skopje, he specified that the Islamic fundamentalists were in the ranks of the so-called National Liberation Army, the Albanian armed unit, and participated in terrorist acts in Macedonia and the Interior Ministry had strong evidences of this fact. These people used to act in the crisis regions near Kumanovo and Tetovo and organized the most bloodshed slaughters, the Interior Ministry official said.
Referring to the intelligence data, the pro-governmental Nova-Macedonia newspaper reported on the presence of Osama bin Laden's "companions" in the Balkans and Macedonia. There are commanders nicknamed "Hodja" in the National Liberation Army personnel, the article says. The fighters get this nickname after training in the Arab countries. One of them is Ermus Suma from Kacanik (Kosovo) whose crew carried out terrorist operations in the Tetovo district and who is known as a religious fanatic. The same regards to Ridvan Nezir, also known as a "Hodja" commander. Nezir commanded a terrorist detachment by Tanusevci. He is known to have been trained in Pakistan and to have fought in Chechnya, the Nova Macedonia notes. Besides, according to the information available to the Interior Ministry, the terrorist group that killed eight Macedonian policemen near Tetovo included Mujahedins who finished off the victims of that crime.
Bin Laden's organization sponsored the Albanian terrorists. The terrorists control drug and arms trafficking and prostitution.
I need a little education. I would greatly appreciate someone pointing me to a good source on the net or directly addressing the following questions:
1. What was our (i.e. Clinton's) motivation for supporting the KLA and opposing the Serbs? I am after motivation here and am not looking for a Monica Lewinsky answer.
2. Assuming that was bad policy, why doesn't the Bush administration reverse it?
Good Idea!!!!!! Theres plenty of targets for that.....
Follow the money! There have been many posts and replies about the contributions of Arab terrorist fronts to Hilldebeast and the DNC in 1999/2000. Go NewsMax.com and do a search about these contributions. I don't have time to do the linking today, but since Friday/Sat there have been significant posts/replies on this data!

2. Assuming that was bad policy, why doesn't the Bush administration reverse it?
1. If you don't consider that Clinton would start a war to get Juanita Brodderick off the front pages, then you are never going to understand Clinton's motivations. Her accusations were very credible, and if people had believed her, it would have ruined Clinton and the Democrats. Under those conditions, the lives of people in the Balkans were of little consequence.
Another of Clinton's motivations was his "legacy-building." Many historians judge presidents by whether they can use the military to move a border somewhere, and often they fail to consider whether moving the border was a good idea. Clinton just wanted to check off another item on his "legacy" list.
His rationale for supporting the KLA against the Serbs is harder to understand. He said that he wanted to allow Albanian children in Kosovo to go to schools where they could learn in their own language and learn their own religion. Why it was more important for these kids to have this right than it was for the Serb, Roma, Jewish, and Bosnian Muslim kids is unknown. He said that the Albanians were oppressed in Kosovo. He failed to mention that when they ran the place in the 80's, they oppressed the Serbs. I suspect that a large part of his motivation was that the KLA didn't have any "high value" targets that he could hit with cruise missiles and smart bombs. To help the Serbs, he would have to send troops instead of waging a high-altitude bombing campaign. Given the liberal tendency to appease evil rather than fight it, he might have sided with the KLA to try to keep Usama bin Laden happy in hopes that he wouldn't continue acting against the United States. Another possibility frequently raised here is that the Serbs are Christians, and Clinton wanted to hurt Christians at every turn.
2. President Bush's reasons for not reversing the policy are harder to understand. Maybe he really believes that the KLA represents the Albanians and that they need protection. I hate to think that he would be that deceived on that issue, but it may be true. Another possibility is that he simply doesn't believe he can change Americans' minds about the situation. Too many of the sheeple bought into the idea that the Serbs were bad and the Albanians good. To reverse policy successfully, we need to show people the truth, and President Bush might believe that he doesn't have the political strength to make that fight at this time.

Probably having a rabid anti-slav Madcow Albright for an advisor on foreign affairs and the hope for the continuation of the cold war (Serbs were a Socalists) which is good for business i.e. channeling more money into the (overblown) defence budget.
Also sucking up to the muslim world by showing how "humanitarian" they are : "Yes we are bombing Iraq but look, we are bombing our own christians as well,we are so humane "

1. Basically it was all for oil..... There are two proposed pipelines..... One going from Serbia, via Macedonia to Greece (the Russian one), and the second going from Bulgaria, via Macedonia to Albania (the American one)..... The US required a pretext to enter the region, hence the KLA was created and the rest is history........ There is also the strategic value of the area. With the US fulfilling the dream of a Greater Albania for the wacko Albanians, they get a ally in this region (Greece has been making a bit of noise in the past, i.e. opposing US trops being stationed on their soil, and supporting Russia's oil pipeline plan.... Also, Greece doesn't particularly like Turkey, which the US supports). Have a look at the size of Camp Bondsteel. It is said to be the largest Military base outside of the US (i think), so much for short term mission..... There is also the issue of putting the squeeze on Russia (NATO expansion)... Here are a whole heap of links regarding the oil pipelines

2. It is bad policy in the sense that it breeds hatred in an area that really needs a break from that (more instability)..... It also has meant the loss of many lives, and will result in the loss of many more lives. It has shown the world the ture face of American foriegn policy (i.e. do as we say or we bomb you - although that does not explain Macedonia, where the government supported NATO, and was praised by NATO as being a "model of ethnic tolerance and democracy in the Balkans", which it was and still is). And has also shown the level of hypocricy coming out of the White House, and America's idea of "fair trade".......
But for the money hungry lunatics in Congress and elsewhere it isn't bad policy as they gain control of yet another oil pipeline (Why else do people give a s--t about the Middle East or now the Caspian).... What these people fail to realise or believe they can control, is that the Albanian terrorists will turn on them as has done Bin Laden if they don't get everything that they want. They have also created an enemy of Macedonia and Serbia. Not too mention Russia and basically all other Christian Orthodox states in the region..... Heres a couple of links you can read about whats really happening in Macedonia:
Links to other articlesUS arming the terrorists
Heres one that focuses on the KLANews from Macedonia
After reading some/all of this, perhaps you may be able to understand (if you don't already) why so many people dislike even hate the US (this wasn't the case in Eastern Europe about 15+ years ago.... Back then people loved the US)..... And why some people say "you got what you deserve", "now you know what it feals like" or "you reap what you sow"........ BTW, When i say America, i mean the government/people with influence......
He better remember the saying tho "you reap what you sow"..... cause this ones (the whole attack on "slavs" thing) is gonna come back and smack him or whoever is in power at the time, straight in the face.....
The KLA had been on our terrorist list, and US had been against the KLA- up until....here comes the Monica part....
the clintoon needed, what he percieved to be, a quick, decisive little war, to change focus, and to rally support for himself.
It was not quick, it was not decisive, and didn't divert many of us for long.
His administration put a load of cr@p about Serbian "atrocities" etc. Only our illustrious media pundits and those who get their news from them believed the cr@p.
Reporters Without Borders-an amalgam of foreign reporters were the best source for news during this little "Wag the Dog" war.
You will have to look for archives now, try

Blowback? bigtime..... added with some very pissed Macedonians and Serbs...... I don't know where your from, but i assume you know that people from this region have VERY long memories...... As the saying goes "you reap what you sow"......
