He's proved himself to be the leader America needs.
What a difference 10 months make. Last November I broke the unwritten rule that requires journalists to be neutral political observers when I got embroiled in the controversy over the presidential election and publicly supported Al Gore.

He ends with
"I suspect many of my fellow Democrats feel exactly the same way. "Thank God......... Lets Roll!

Since the murderous terror attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, President Bush has come alive in a way I did not think possible.Bzzzzzzzzzzzt.... you are incorrect sir. G. W. Bush is the same man today that he was 15 days ago. The difference is that, in light of the WTC attack, you are no longer viewing the world/USA/GWB through your liberal puke colored glasses.

Great piece. I've had this conversation with several ardent liberals online lately, including one of the guys who was on TV defending Gore in Florida. And most of them have said much the same thing, variations on "Sh*t, I'm glad I lost."
I've been good. I've only said "I _told_ you!" once so far.

The most revealing part of the piece is this:
"Of course, I did not know whether the election had gone for Mr. Gore or George W. Bush. As a partisan, I did not care."
He's admitting that -- despite the chants of "count every vote" and "the will of the people" -- the whole debacle last November was their attempt to get Gore in office whether he actually won the election or not!
Of course, we all knew that, but who ever thought they'd admit it!
To: zook
All I can say is wow! Now that's courage.

Last November I broke the unwritten rule that requires journalists to be neutral political observers when I got embroiled in the controversy over the presidential election and publicly supported Al Gore. ROTFLMAO!!! Neutral political observers -- that's a good one. After that first line I couldn't take anything else he said seriously. OK, so he is man enough to admit he was wrong, but he is still delusional if he could write that first line with a straight face.

This piece could well be subtitled:

It was not just with friends that I passionately argued the election had been stolen and that Mr. Gore would be the better president. The election was NOT stolen! It was ALMOST stolen by that moron, algore! And THANK GOD he didn't succeed! And to you Mr. Posner, it's about time you woke up, you buffoon!

When a lib makes a mea culpa like this, and displays rational thought, it makes me wonder why they choose to ignore the common sense that we know they have the other 99% of the time.

You are wrong sir. We never know who we are until we are tested. Whatever one thought of President Bush 15 days ago he is a better man now.
