[history]
September 26, 2001 -- Osama bin Laden's henchmen tried to buy a multi-million dollar Boeing 727 six months before they hijacked commercial planes and slammed them into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, The Post has learned.
"Someone connected to Osama bin Laden was looking to buy a retired aircraft sometime in March," a federal investigator close to the terrorism probe told The Post. "He was also trying to recruit Americans to buy it for him, to act as a front.

Bin Laden, a multimillionaire, has access to several other planes, including an executive jet and a C-130 We need to put a stop to that.

We need to put a stop to that. That would come along with destroying every other aircraft, in the country which has recently been called Afghanistan. In the future, it may be divided between Iran, Pakistan, and the "stans."
If mobility is taken from OBL, he may eventually be found.

Arab countries own many jets already... do Canada and Mexico have a good enough grip on their airspace to warn us of another kamikaze attempt launched from that turf (e.g. on El Paso?).
To: Clinton's a rapist
I still say we can solve all of these problems by crowning Clinton the new Emperor of Afghanistan.

"They got at least as far as kicking tires [in used-airplane lots] in Denver and Tucson," the source said. Look. It's high time that we take a lesson from the old "road runner" cartoons.
Sell him the jet! Sell him the G-d Damned jet (made by ACME) It always works for the Road Runner! The sonofabitch will blow up with him in it. Sell him da damned jet!!!

Ooh, that would be a good one. Go ahead and sell the equipment (jet, cropduster, whatever) to the terrorist. But unbeknownst to them it is under surveillance and remote control. When they try to do their thing in it, kaboom.

Mojave Airport in Southern California now has more than 100 retired jets ready to be refurbished, recertified and sold.I would think the recertified part is where we put the squeeze on 'em.

Do they have to be recertified with reference to the buyer? Or is it like selling "certified used cars."

I used to live 7 miles south of there and back 6 years ago the planes were lined up ready for sale.
It's also just outside Edawards AFB.

LOL, my typo when I registered
HOWEVER later someone FReep e-mailed me this.
Webster's Third Edition accepts "yatch" as a variant of yacht.

So much for the old adage "money can't buy happiness" --- because it certainly can, if you're a suicide pilot looking to buy your one way ticket to Allah and the promised 72 virgins, by murdering Americans and Jews.

Ah, thanks. I was poking fun at you, seeing the "yatch" patch on your profile. Somehow "yachting" sounds more sublime than "yatching."

I'm sure he could find a great office overlooking downtown Kabul. ;) The jeering mobs there are already destroying the building. When the fires spread some more in the surrounding buildings, he should still get a good view of the (flattened) city, even if he is at ground level in the embassy.

Best I remember, "yatching" usually involves a rough night.
