This is NOT a joke...perhaps your nephew was suffering from a chemical inbalance in his brain. That can cause mental illness and (sometimes) result in catastrophic actions from which there is no recovery.

My cousin committed suicide some years back, he was a talented artist, missed by all. What a waste.

Perhaps he never recovered from the loss of his brother. That and the attack were too much.

There's just no knowing the despair in the heart of a youngster.

I count on God's mercy, and trust Him to care for the ones departed. I gave up searching for reasons to explain such sorrow...but I still ask for the strength to bear them.

I'm at a loss, too. I don't know how well you knew his situation, but this normally does not happen suddenly. There was likely an emotional or psychological issue involved here.

You and your family have my heartfelt sympathy. As someone who has lost a family member to suicide, I can tell you that there are a million questions but, sadly, no answers.

Your family will run the whole gamut of emotions ..... shock, anger, frustration, grief, heartbreak ..... you name it and you will end up feeling it before all is said and done. That is quite natural ...... don't be afraid of it. It is only if one gets stuck in one of those stages and doesn't work on through it that problems can arise.

Hang on to God for dear life! Realize that He didn't cause this ..... but He can help you deal with it. He will carry you and your family through this if you let Him.
