I Pledge Allegiance To The Earth..........What!
CalNRA ^ | Sept 30, 2001 | Ralph Weller

Posted on 09/30/2001 8:12:21 AM PDT by kimber

September 29, 2001 - Just when you think San Francisco is truly the capitol of weird lefty politicians, along comes another California politician in what seems to be a never-ending spiral of competition for the "stupid politician of the month" award.  We have found a worthy competitor.

Los Angeles City Councilwomen Ruth Galanter and some of her friends on the council want to change, amend, add to, eliminate, co-exist with, or do something which we aren't quite certain of, to the existing Pledge of Allegiance.  As a reminder, here is the pledge as published in 1892 with one change in 1954 adding "under God."

Pledge of Allegiance
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to
the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with
liberty and justice for all.

Councilwomen Galanter has written her own entitled "Pledge to the Earth".  But, it doesn't end there.  She introduced it to the city council on September 26 so that it may become part of the official proceedings at the opening of city council meetings, we presume.

Pledge to the Earth
"I pledge allegiance to the earth on which I stand, one world, one people, undivided, with food, shelter, and justice for all."

So what prompted this stroke of literary genius?  Galanter was so struck by the September 11 World Trade Center attack that it seemed like an opportune time to write some pearls of wisdom that only a socialist would appreciate.  In her motion she wrote: "the events of September 11, 2001, have dramatically demonstrated that ultimately we are all part of the same world community without national or ethnic distinction..."

Oh please!  What a bunch of mush-brained, left-wing stupidity.  Was she sleeping on September 11?  Galanter may think that the world is without national or ethnic distinction, but the very "same world community" she thinks we all belong to is so dangerous to Americans that the U.S. State Department issued a world-wide warning to Americans traveling outside of the U.S. this very week.

As many as 7000 Americans died on September 11, 2001 because we have significant national or ethnic diversity in this world with very different value systems.  The bottom line is we are not and, in all probability, will never be the same.  There are many people, regimes, crackpot dictators, and governments in other lands that want to see Americans dead.

That's the difference between us and them.  We don't seek the death of innocent citizens as our enemies do.  Americans seek justice for the victims and their families as well as for every American including your constituents.  Galanter needs to do her constituents a favor and quit equating them and America with every sleazy third world muslim country that wants to see us destroyed.  We are not "one world, one people," and "undivided."

There is more to life than "food, shelter, and justice for all."  Americans call it "liberty"... a word that she most conveniently omitted from her pledge.  That shouldn't surprise anyone.  Words like "liberty" are a threat to socialism which is steeped in keeping people oppressed.   When people are dependent on government for their very basic survival needs of food and shelter, there is no room for such lofty notions as liberty.

Galanter needs to take her "Pledge to the Earth" and burn it.  It's nonsense!  If the Los Angeles City Council adopts her pledge it is clear that left-wing socialists have taken over L.A. not unlike Berkeley and San Francisco.  They need to be swept out of office with the city hall trash at the next election.

Would someone please post a picture of this anti American B$tch? Have we smoked out another new anti American Black Panther, who thanks to affirmative action and PC actions has a title and can pretend to be respectable? Then she can trash America 24/7 without any fear. Well, babe, that changed on 9/11/2001!

Pack her up and send her over to clear the mines left where our service guys might go!

If we were all one people, with no ethnic boundaries, the multiple cultures and peoples who come to this country to live would have no need to. I just love these people who look at American tolerance and diversity and think that they can extend that to the rest of the planet by default. If that was the case, we wouldn't have hijackings and massive immigration. And if the current system is working so well, and has resulted in such mulitculturalism and diversity in America, why do the wackos want to change it so bad?

San Francisco unfortunately has more than its share of fruitcakes. Galenter is certainly one of them.

Where do these nitwits come from?

Easy, they are spawned by the Evil One.

Here is your picture of her that is currently on her web site... I think this was taken in the '70s as she looks pretty young... she is an old hag now kind of like the Madeline Albright.

Well, friends, Americans, countrymen...

The LA dingbat is not the only one having delirious delusions and continuing "feel-good" fantasies.

It seems like our president, indeed all of our government has slipped from a "let's punish Mass Murderers" stance into a "let's add a hundred million more losers to our welfare rolls" stance.

We now want to adopt Afghanistan and Pakistan, throw welfare and money at them and everything will be fine with terrorism.

Over my dead body.

Translation:

I pledge allegiance

To myself

And the Democratic Party

But not the Republicans

Whom I can't stand

One opinion

Which is mine

Unassailable

With correctness

And selfishness

For me

Thanks, this is the first one of these that I have erred on!

One of my best friends is that truly rare creature, a black conservative. When this 9/11 mass murder happened, he told me to watch for self implosions via their own mouth by what he labels the new racist Black Panthers. He says that they have infested many of our fire departments, a lot of teaching positions, government jobs of all types and often hold a position in a some local government as an elected person!

So this self implosion came from an all white hater of America! Thanks for your quick response!

Was there not a Roman ruler who said "I wish the world had a collective neck, so I could cut off the head?" These people refuse to understand that a one world collective government only makes for one neck to put in one leash.

Should we try to get an interview from her for the next "Unspun"? Or go to the council meeting and question (and tape) her?

Unfortunately, being from L.A., I must say that Galenter is only one of the mob. She was stabbed, by a nutcase, a few years back and almost died. Maybe that's what affected her brain.
