After my calculations, please correct me if you think I have calculated this wrong, Ronald Regan will during the day of October 11 make history again. During that day he will outlive John Adams as the longest living president in the USA. Let`s hope he makes it, even though it`s sad that he will not be able to be aware of it himself. (Please exuse my english, I´m living in Oslo, Norway and have english only as my second language....

John Adams
Born: Oct. 30, 1735
Died: July 4, 1826
History now looks upon Adams much more favorably than it did during his lifetime. Just as it will be for Reagan.
God Bless Ronald Reagan!!!

Adams died on July 4, 1826, at the age of 90 years and 247 days. Hoover died on Oct. 20, 1964, at the age of 90 years and 71 days. For Reagan to become the oldest living former president, he would have to still be alive past Oct. 11, 2001. (His birthday being 2/6.)
I think you did a great job with this posting - don't apologize a bit!

God bless Ronald Reagan. I wish he could have been our elder statesman, even though he had too much class to inject himself into politics after his presidency.

I had a fear that President Reagan would pass while Clinton was still in office. I did not want Bill Clinton representing the United States at this great man's funeral.
To: mcjordansc
I had the same fear - God bless that Clinton did not get the opportunity to preside over his funeral - it would have been a SHAME!!!
To: mcjordansc
He would have done it and felt no shame. Just like the beach at Normandy or laying the wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier. The depth of the mans gall has not yet been plumbed.

Thank you for the photograph and information. God Bless Ronald Reagan!
We just lost an Aunt (age 95). She was in her own home except for about 45 days. It was an 8 year long goodbye but she was wisdom to the end. A real lesson in the circle of life to have her this long. We all gained so much and a better understanding of the aging process.
