Traveling for the first time since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and hearing constant reports of increased security precautions, frequent flyer Jeffrey Phillips arrived at Logan Airport Saturday morning ready for anything.

Anything, he said, except no security at all.

One of the most underreported stories of this ugly saga: how good ol' Boston corruption, patronage and race politics turned Logan into an easy mark for terrorists.

Note to the Boston Globe: stop acting so surprised. This is what happens when sleazy Democrat ward heelers pass out Airport security contracts.

If they get the security up, the economy should follow suit, the people will be more willing to spend $$ and fly and travel more once they are more secure. Perhaps, some of the people effected by the layoffs, might consider changeing their vocation and supply the man-power to help build the security up at the airports or where ever needed.

Governor Jane Swift (R-MA) has called a press conference for tomorrow night at 6:05PM to address this nonsense. Heads are going to roll over at Logan Airport. You can bet on that. Tomorrow we are going to see a "hack holocaust."

Well what do you expect from the state of Ted Kennedy and Barney Frank. What is described aptly in this article describes any organization in America that is supposed to be charge of security. Instead of some people who care about this country you have the ultimate in affirmative action and political correction and of course diversity!

The last stat that I saw on Logan was that over 60% of the so called security checkers were not American Citizens!

Now I will ask the real racist question, "How many of these so called security checkers whom are not American Citizens, are here in this country illegally?

I know what we can do to help. We can send those who teach diversity courses at the CIA and manage diversity at the CIA to Logan. When they get there, they can make diversity quilts like those hanging in the main lobby of the CIA in Langley! In the meantime, we can just close the airport at Logan and make it the home for all affirmative action/Political correctness and diversity trainers and managers! Just lock them up in the airport compound and not let them out until this war is over! Oh yeah, lock Barney Frank and all of the Kennedy's up in the Logan compound to be the leaders of their voters!

The ENTIRE Boston Port Authority, or whatever the hell that ultraliberal Massachusetts state government agency is called that runs Logan Airport, is a cesspool of Democratic Party political patronage. Everyone working there in any meaningful position - such as the head of security - is there because of the support they gave Massachusetts Democrats, not because they have a single iota of experience in the area.

I sincerely hope that at least a few of the families of the murdered people on those planes sic their lawyers on the MA Dem Party and the Port Authority, as well as the individual security chiefs, for at least "willfull indifference," and hopefully "involuntary manslaughter."

These people are DIRECTLY responsible for allowing these hijackings to take place. They MUST be held accountable.

I heard a letter read on talk radio from a doctor who flew out of San Jose, CA airort recently. As he pulled into the parking garage there was a sign that all vehicles were subject to search. Three guards were standing by the entrance. One (with a foreign accent) told him he had to open his trunk. Fine said and did so. In his trunk were two duffel bags, one with excercise cloths, and a bigger on with emergency medical suppies. They never looked to see what was in either one, just waved him on. Clearly a lot of this supposed increased security is just for show. It isn't gonna stop any serious terrorists.

It's stupid isn't it?

All the "airport security" anyone could possibly muster up
wouldn't have stopped those terrorists.

You aren't going to make anything safer by having people
check pen knives at the door. You'll make things safer
if you arm the pilots, keep them in the cockpit, and arm
the flight attendants.

Those poor saps can't even carry mace or pepper spray.

And with 25 to 1 odds against them, the terrorists got away
with their actions.

Yeah......  Beef up the airport ramp security. That's the ticket.

Perhaps Gov. Jane will relish the idea of someone *else* being on the griddle, and there will be some serious rollage at Logan.

The airports don't need more security to get business back. People are avoiding flying because flying has become even more unpleasant and inconvenient. If people have to wait three hours to get through security only to have their flights canceled, they are not going to be enthusiastic about flying. If they can no longer leave on Friday night for a nice little weekend trip, they will not make that trip. If they have harmless, everyday items like fingernail clippers confiscated, they will stop flying because they recognize that these actions are meaningless and unreasonable. If the airlines want customers to return, they will bring back some sanity to the system.

According to callers to the local conservative talk radio station, the same thing in happening in San Antonio. Little to no security.

That was so well said, I thought it deserved saying again.

As the spouse of an airline employee, this ordeal has been quite trying. Weekend trips are now clearly out of the question. Who wants to spend an entire weekend in the airport? I have no problem with flying at the moment, just the inane meaningless "security" restrictions being followed.

These new restrictions will not stop anyone who is determined enough. There are enough malcontents, illegals and others working as ground crew, caterers, janitors and other menial positions inside the security gates.

"Tomorrow we are going to see a "hack holocaust."

Well, I'll believe it when I see it, Sam. I lived in Massachusetts for awhile, and I don't think you have anything BUT miserable hacks in your entire government (hacks and Mafiosi, I should say).

And that goes double for Governor "Not-too-Swift".
