No Outcry in the Streets
Dr. Dennis Prutow
What of men who blow up a building containing a daycare center and a mother who drowns her babies? The Bible talks about ancient kings who engaged in such evil. Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem; and he did not do what was right in the sight of the Lord his God, as his father David had done. But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and even made his son pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord had driven out from before the sons of Israel (2 Kings 16:2-3). Here is the mournful cry regarding the country where such things occur. Alas, sinful nation, people weighed down with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, sons who act corruptly! They have abandoned the Lord, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they have turned away from Him (Isaiah 1:4). Is there a correlation between our lack of service to God and the eruption of evil in our land? The Bible suggests there is. The opposite also seems to be true. Psalm 144:14 prays, Let there be no outcry in our streets! The Psalm then exclaims, How blessed are the people who are so situated; how blessed are the people whose God is the Lord! (Psalm 144:15).

I think about this kind of ancient simplistic thinking all the time. I hope we can wipe it out before civilization is.

"Were the Red Zone people, folks who believe that duty, honor, country and God are not just words to be sneered at by some candy-ass" When I read these words, you came to mind.
Love and peace.

Many God-haters have tried.

I reflect on this too and while I believe that the evil one is ultimately responsible for recent attacks, I can't help but think about how far our nation has moved away from God. It is an indisputable fact. It is NO quirk of nature that our country has been blessed through our history and I believe it has been because we were a Christian nation, trusting in an Almighty God. It seems the farther away we move from God, the more evidence there is of evil. The Bible speaks about how God gives his people protection...the key word here is "his" . Are we really His anymore? Something else to ponder....

Are you saying that because we didn't worship God enough, he had all those innocent value producers killed???
That kind of God isn't worth worshipping...
Not in the slightest...

Religious zealots are all the same. Death. Destruction. Doom.
Can't you see that?

I don't hate God. Just have a hard time thinking God determined that a Roman Emperor would decide what God said. Also not crazy about the idea that any person knows how angry God gets. Really get impatient with those who become implements of God's wrath.

When we take our eyes off God..they have to go somewhere..

If Christ came to conquer death and clamed the life in Christ is eternal, what's the big deal about judgement?

Think of it more like, your unarmed in a gun battle and a cop is standing in front of your body to protect you. Is it his fault if you take it upon yourself to leave his protection?
We are in a spritual battle and the bullets are flying.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to the Word of God, which is heavily quoted in this post. That, of course, will be impossible to eradicate.

In short I don't believe God punished us as a nation on 9/11. He's still letting ours use their free will. Some of those folks were believers and some were not. It was simply their time to go home, however I do see it as a wake up call to get priorities right.
Being a pretribber I reject the notion that God punishes innocent people. He died on the cross for us and took on our punishment. It is true though that believers will have to account, as individuals, before the White Throne as to what they did with their life.
People trying to get you to believe this is punishment will say but God chastizes His own. Of course He does. Just as parents need to do with their children but when was the last time that a genuine Christina parent punished their child for the deeds of a different child? It doesn't happen.
Having said all that I believe also that prophecy is happening right before our eyes. When all hell breaks lose, I don't expect to be here. If people are wise, they should get to know Him, ask forgivness and ask Him to come into their heart before it is too late.

Why should we be surprised if a people who thought themselves so great they could forget about God, were in turn forgotten by Him?
The constitution and the founding fathers never intended to have God wiped from public life. The constitutional prohibition refers merely to forbidding the erection of a state church.
To put a stake in the heart of the vampires of fanatic fundamental Islam, we need the benefit of a belief in the Judaeo-Christian God, and we need to put our trust in Him as we work to destroy the enemies of western civilization who have assaulted us.
