[history]
You can picture them spreading out inside this mostly empty flight to San Francisco, the smokestacks and cranes of the Newark skyline looming outside their windows.
For 41 minutes they waited on the tarmac to take off. Two pilots, five flight attendants and 37 passengers. Among them, four men knew they were all waiting to die.
When United Flight 93 finally took off, it began a journey that would not end in San Francisco, as planned, nor smashing into some Washington target, but in an aching glory.

I can not imagine, how these people felt.
God bless them, for being so brave.
To: GreatOne
With each story I read, I want to know more.
I want to know about all the people on all four planes, the towers, the Pentagon.
Sometimes I feel I am going mad.

He told her how much he loved his pregnant wife and two sons, and he asked her to call them. He asked her to say the Lord's Prayer and 23rd Psalm with him.
Everytime I read this, I get choked up...

NJ's Ledger has a front page story about the heroes on this flight today. I thought I was through crying.......Further there is a full page story about a man from our community who died in the Tower written as a goodbye letter from his son. More tears.......

Boy, the anger that welled up inside of me as I read this.
Brought me right back to that morning.
I am so proud to be an American, and I pray that our elected leaders do the right thing. OK, LET'S ROLL!!!

Look at this: www.suasponte.com
A guy I know in California rebuilt the entry to the site as a tribute.

In the face of all this, we take "diplomatic measures". I am sick to my stomach.

The Hero Gallery
"Are you ready? OK, let's roll." Todd Beamer
Sandra Bradshaw, a flight attendant, boiled water to throw on the terrorists.
Jeremy Glick called his wife to say the passengers had voted: They would try to take back the plane.
"OK. We're going to do something." Thomas E. Burnett Jr.

Is this where the "Let's Roll." thing came from I keep seeing on FR? Precisely.

The next time you hear some wimpy SOB tell us why we shouldn't arm ourselves, please remember that the only successful act of defense on 9/11 was due to "The People" and their hastily formed militia. This remains a wonderful story of defiance and honor in the midst of tragedy.
To: GreatOne
I feel the need to make some sort of reply, but after reading this, I am speechless.

The horror I felt while reading this is too much to express. God rest these brave folks, and grant comfort to their families.

I cried when I saw Lisa Beamer (the pregnant wife) as a special guest at the capital whom PResident Bush introduced to all of congress! I cry when I hear thousands of Americans singing the national anthem and God Bless America like they've never sung it before!

looks like for now america is rolling over for so called allies Suppose, just hypothetically, that Bush knows he's going to strike on October 11. If he's not publicized the date (as well he should not) it may not be bad for him to act diplomatic until that date comes around to keep our enemies off-guard.

Don't know if anyone is interested: Jimmy Spencer (from Berwick, PA) is running the Busch race in Charlotte Saturday and has his car painted in tribute to Flight 93. They are raising money for the family members of those on Flight 93 and they are donating their winnings from the race. There are also T-shirts you can purchase and it says those proceeds go to the Flight 93 fund also. Details and story at www.jimmyspencer.com

Reading this now and crying. God Bless those Americans who gave their lives to protect others, and bless their faith in God. I echo their words: Let's roll!

True heroes.
Eagles Up! Let's Roll!

...Please President Bush, In your rally speach to the troops when the war begins, may your word be..."LET'S ROLL!"
Our country needs you...
To: GreatOne
Heroes...every one of them.
I'm speechless.
To: Quietly
Simply heartbreaking, yet so inspiring. God grant us all, their grace...and courage.
