Only a dishonorable democrat (but I repeat myself) would try to use an act of war against America to save his pathetic
political "career". Freep him GOOD!

Sign suggestion to make a point about Condit on Intelligence
Hey Gary - what do you have to do for bin Laden so he'll give you your girlfriend back?
To: Diver Dave
Make sure you find his campaign office too!
To: All
If you are as outraged as we are, call the Capitol switchboard and leave a message for Dickie Gephardt to remove this scum from the Intelligence Committee and subcommittees.

Yahoo, Diver Dave! Let's freep that creep until he's toast. Only we FReepers are left holding this bag. We need to pop his balloon. What a disgusting excuse for a man - hiding behind this war to save his political rear end. It's more than despicable. See you at the freep! For victory & freedom!!!

Bump for the Patriotic Modesto FReepers!
To: VA Advogado
Based on a report on the local news last night, there is no one in the office, and calls to an answering machine were not returned to the reporterette. The office is probably in some strip mall, and we would get greater exposure to the community by protesting near his congressional office.

Thanks for the bumps and support! For victory & freedom!!!

But there's nothing like demoralizing and shaming people who stop buy to pick up Condit yard signs.

Maybe someone can clean this up for ease of reading: Updated: Oct. 5, 2001 - 2:15 p.m. Rep. Gary Condit would lose in a race against any of the three state lawmakers he could face if he seeks re-election, according to a poll obtained by The Associated Press. Condit would lose against his protege, a Republican senator and a Democratic state senator who doesn't live in the district, according to the poll conducted last week by J. Moore Methods of Sacramento. The results echo a Field Poll released last week showing a majority of potential voters view Condit unfavorably and would not re-elect him. The poll of likely voters in the newly redrawn 18th Congressional District was paid for by Assemblyman Dennis Cardoza, D-Atwater, who is considering a run for the seat held by his former boss, according to a source who provided a copy of the poll to the AP. It is the first time a poll has shown how the Ceres Democrat would fare against would-be challengers. The poll has been circulating around the district as Cardoza tries to line up support for a possible run for the seat. "It's a very decisive poll in terms of being bad news for Gary Condit," said Gary Jacobson, a political science professor at the University of California, San Diego. In a primary matchup with Cardoza, his former aide, the poll shows the understudy would get 56 percent of the vote to Condit's 27 percent. In a general election match, Sen. Dick Monteith, R-Modesto, who has declared he is running, would get 55 percent of the vote to Condit's 32 percent. Condit would even lose in a primary to state Sen. Jim Costa, who lives outside the district. Only 36 percent of voters had heard of Costa, D-Fresno, but in a primary matchup he would get 43 percent of the vote to Condit's 36 percent. Condit's chief of staff, Mike Lynch, would not comment on the poll. He said Condit has not made a decision whether to run or not. Condit's campaign office began collecting 3,000 signatures this week so he can waive the $1,400 fee to register as a candidate. Internal polls of this type are typically used to gauge support and line up contributions and endorsements. In this case, the numbers could justify Cardoza's challenge to Condit, who until recently has been a political ally and friend. Cardoza has long said he would only run if Condit steps down. "It's also used in this strategy of persuading Condit that he shouldn't run, that his case is virtually helpless," Jacobson said. "That would solve Cardoza's problem of saying he wouldn't run if Condit is running." The numbers strengthen the chances Cardoza will announce he is running, but he remains mum on his plans. The telephone poll was conducted Sept. 25-26 of 500 likely voters in the newly drawn 18th Congressional District. The poll has a margin of error of 4.5 percentage points. -- Associated Press
