This is a serious inquiery:
Why is it that Peter Jennings of ABC so hates the USA?
What did this country ever do to him to cause him to hate it so intensley?
And third:
Is there anything about the USA that Jennings does not seem to out and out hate?

As someone said the other day (and I am paraphrasing)...the smartest students study engineering in school, those that can't hack enginering study science, those that can't hack science, study law, those that can't hack law, study business, those that can't hack business, study psychology, those that can't hack psych, study journalism...(and finally those that can't hack any of that become teachers)
So you see, its not really Peters fault...he is just not very bright.

I don't ever watch him. What are your facts to be able to ask such a question? You must have some of your own to think this person hates America. What are you basing your questions on?

Oh, and nothing depends upon a person's desires and/or gifts between one field or another? It's all based on intellect?

A very large client has asked this question, regarding his pondering whether or not to divest his company retirement account of ABC stocks and bonds.
This question, post, has nothing to do with my opinion.

I once read he was the inspiration of William Hurt's character in the movie "Network". That character was portrayed as dumb as a rock......Jennings would be an insult to rocks.

Things I know about Jennings:
He is Canadian.
He did not attend a college or university.
He is pro-Palestinian, and once dated Hannah Ashwari, the spokeswoman for the Palestinians.
He also once dated Barbra Streisand.
He has been married several times.
He has a reputation as a "ladies man."
I hope this gives you a start. Your client should divest himself of ABC (Disney) stock on general principle.

OK, my bad. It's early here, too.
How about: Peter Jennings did not serve in WW II?
Seriously, I can't tell the difference at times between the three network anchors, hence get video news from Fox.

It wasn't Network but I remember the plot. The William Hurt character was an anchorman who couldn't put a sentence together unless it was spoken into his ear piece. Of course the brilliant person whispering into his ear was a woman. LOL!

I don't know what has set 'Alas' off so but I gagged while watching Jennings struggle to pronounce some Islamic indigene's name. After months of his sneering "Mr. Bush" to tangle himself over an Arabic name was too much.

Your theory is good, but doesnt apply to Jennings. He didn't study anything. He is a high school drop out.

My opinion. You would really have to ask Jennings himself. I think, however, that it has nothing to so with his educational background. Many people - including myself - are freedom loving, hard wording, conservative, successful Americans without the benefit of a college degree. In the case of Jennings, I think he is simply an easily-manipulated mouthpiece for the liberal news organ that employs him. In short - he's not his own man. He's been steeped in liberalism, and because of that, the very thought of a governement headed by conservatives is frightening and revolting to him. As fine a man as President Bush is; as obviously popular as he is; as obviously good a leader he is; you will still find Jennings and others of his ilk refer to him (and other conservative leaders) with a smirk while they attempt to put him and his decisions in a bad light. My advice -- your client would do better to invest in a company that lifts up and supports the principles of our republic, rather than attempting to shred them.

Okay, I have a factual contribution, coming in the form of a question:
Why would anyone expect any coherent, fact-based answers in response to his incoherent, 'why' question?
It's as stupid as the ever-repeated 'why do they hate us so much' stupid question the networks keep asking their hired talking heads these days.
And, finally, suppose you do get a 'factual' answer to this stupid question. Then what?

The answer to the likes of these people is plain and simple.Do not watch the liberal mainstream media.Remember they were the ones who kept saying its the economy stupid while the philandering Commandant Klinton and Field Marshal Gore were dismantling our National Security. Do any of you remember Wexler,Deutsch, and Nadler? I wonder where they are now?Maybe hiding in a cave, that is everyone but Nadler he will have to hide in the Grand Canyon!
