Many American Islamic leaders say they support the war on terrorism, but some younger Muslims here say they are not willing to fight that war against others of their faith.

"We support President Bush in the war against terrorism," Islamic Institute President Khalid Saffuri says. "We support our troops and pray for their safe return."

We need to reinstitute complete assimilation as a condition of US citizenship and restrict immigration from hostile groups and enclaves that do not want to become Americans and embrace our culture and ways, but just reside here. We don't need to invite and accomodate individuals at odds with our civilization or its goals. No more anti-American dirtbags should be let in to ruin our country and threaten our people from within. If you don't like us, don't come here. If you are here and hate it, get the hell out and go somewhere else.

Her friend, Mustafa Khatib, a 22-year-old Muslim-American from Alexandria, agrees. "There are some things that bin Laden says that make sense," he says. "He just shouldn't use violence to prove his points."

Just pull out of Saudi Arabia, let Saddam do as he wishes, deport Jews from Palestine and convert to Islam - and you'll be OK

So these people will not fight other muslims, that must mean they would turn on other Americans, they are traitors line them up and shoot them.

Funny how muslims cannot kill other muslims if it involves the US, but it's fine when muslims from iraq kill muslims from Kuwait. or the Taliban kills northern alliance muslims. I think I am beggining to believe the whole thing about Islam lying to outsiders, and aming to take over all countries and kill all non-muslims. islam is not peace

With a hey nonny nonny. Remember back to the American embassy hostage crisis in Iran the late 1970's -- the one where the Shah's government was knocked out of power? Where the captors were always so innocuously referred to in the media as "students"? THAT WAS THE INFANT TALIBAN.

I pledge Allegiance, to the flag, and to the United States of American, and to the Republic, for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty, and justice for all.

If you cannot say this and live up to it, OUT you go!!!!!

He regards Saudi-born fugitive Osama bin Laden as merely a suspect in the Sept. 11 terror attacks, a belief shared by Ashraf Ali, 19. "Everything is in question until the evidence comes," says Mr. Ali, a member of the University of Maryland's Muslim Students' Association. "It all comes down to justice. That is the foundation of Islam."

Major Hurl on that statement!!!

When alive, the Ayatollah, whom many in the land of the veil revere despite what a Tony Snow might say on Rush's show, said, "Islam wants all the world to be one family. Islam, while respecting one' homeland, which is one's place of birth, doesn't place it before Islam...the notion that we are Iranian and they are Lebanese or form some other place is not propounded in Islam...There are no separate accounts...Islam has come to unite all the peoples of the world, whether Arab or non-Arab, Turk or Persian, with each other into a great umma called the umma of Islam and to establish it in the world so that those who want to gain control of these Islamic governments and Islamic centers will be unable to do so."

These words are echoed in the words of Bin Laden and his followers and, even more so, in the historic mission of Islam itself which is to bring the Dar al Islam to the Dar al Harb.

These people in the above article are Muslims first and foremost, and have no true allegiance to their countries in which they live.

Those Muslim students with "grievances" can have their visas PULLED by the feds, put on a plane, and sent back to whatever sorry hole they came from. We don't need them here if they are not supportive of this country.

As far as I am concerned, all mosque attending first or second generation moslems in the USA are potential sleeper agents.

Particularly those young men 18-40 who have traveled back to the "old country" for "vacation" in the past five years.

Mr. Husain insists that this does not mean such students feel any less patriotic about being Americans, but he concedes he would not be willing to fight against other Muslims.
Well he can insist the world is flat too, doesn’t make it so. If he isn’t willing to fight against other Muslims, regardless of whether they are right or wrong, that makes him less patriotic. I could see not being willing to fight an unjust war, but not being willing to fight any war is another matter, especially if your not a peacenik.
