House Floor: "[If] there is no dead baby in this picture...vote [for the one-victim amendment]"

MOVING PHOTO COMPELS RECOGNITION OF UNBORN VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE

WASHINGTON, DC, (CWNews.com/LSN.ca) - During Tuesday's US House debate on the Unborn Victim of Violence Act (UVVA), a photo of a mother holding the body of her dead son was displayed on the House floor.

The photo is of Tracy Marciniak of Wisconsin holding the body of her son Zachariah, who was killed in her womb during a criminal assault. Under current federal law, if a criminal assaults a pregnant woman and kills her unborn baby, he is charged only with assault because the unborn baby is not legally recognized as a victim. Under the proposed Unborn Victims of Violence Act, any criminal who injures or kills an unborn baby while committing a federal crime will be charged with two offenses, because he has claimed two victims.

Arguing for the passage of the UVVA, Rep. Chris Smith, R-New Jersey, said, "Anybody who thinks there is no dead baby in this picture should vote for the one-victim amendment. But anybody who sees in this photo a grieving mother holding her dead son should vote for the Unborn Victims of Violence Act."

(See the photo http://www.nrlc.org/Unborn_Victims/Zachariah.jpg) An amendment called the 'One-Victim' Substitute, would define the bill's crimes as having only one victim-- the pregnant woman. In an April 24 written statement to Congress, the Bush Administration said it "supports protection for unborn children and therefore supports House passage of H.R. 503" and "strongly oppose any amendment."

Sadly, I'm sure the strong feminist, pro-abortion crowd instill enough fear in too many of our law makers for them to clearly see the dead baby in this picture.

Yep-a lot of them will try the Lord Nelson at Copenhagen approach when he put the telescope to his blind eye and said-"I see no signal!" Maybe the libs will look the other way when they say "I see no baby!".

I wonder if this would apply to a woman on her way to the abortion clinic to do it "legally". Oh, the irony.

I want to know who the sonofabitches were who posed the 'one-victim' substitute for the truth! I damn well guarantee it was democrats, the supporters/promoters of hiring a serial killer to deal with personal/societal problems! They worship the killing, even making it their campaign slogan in the 2000 elections. Despicable bastards! Someone please post the names of the ghouls that posed the substitute, please!

The picture says it all!

I was preparing myself for the dreadful shock of seeing a little dead fetus and was totally unprepared to see a baby who was just days away from his birthday! Anyone that doubts that baby was a person is not dealing with a full deck.

This story is so horrible and sad :(

If I were this childs mother I'd kill the S.O.B. that did this to him myself. Sure, let that murderer out on assault, he would be safer in jail if that was my baby.

Prosecute baby killers of every stripe. Implement the Death penalty for murdering babies. Prosecute mothers who conspire to murder their babies. Prosecute all people who have supported abortion as murders and accomplices. Quit supporting immoral laws and the people who write them. Prosecute the traitors who write and pass unconstitutional laws in violation of their oath of office. Pray for those who are about to die!
