[history]
Alarmed at Rep. Gary Condit's apparent intent to run for re-election next year, some Democratic leaders in San Joaquin and Merced counties are going public with their displeasure.
"The central committee of San Joaquin County, almost to a person, will not support the incumbent," said Marcelino Martinez, chairman of that county's committee. "I hope the representative, once he sees the handwriting on the wall, will withdraw."

The almighty and powerful central committees are turning on Condit, NOW this is serious! The gauntlet had really been thrown down now.
LOL...

My gut tells me that Gary cut a deal to stay in office until his term is up, and is now playing good cop/bad cop....
he has no intention of running, but is giving the democrat party the chance to take the high road and FORCE him out, wink-wink.

I'm so glad Condit hasn't been forgotten by FReepers. He got overshadowed by the 9/11 atrocities but we must NEVER FORGET Chandra. NEVER FORGET!

Oh come on, what's the big deal? Keep him around. He didn't do anything any other self-respecting Democrat wouldn't have done!!!

He figures with all the focus on the war against terrorism everyone will forget what he is and what he's done. The scarey thing is he may be right. Unless the light is kept shining brightly on him he may get away with it and that makes me sick.

Gary cut the deal but he has changed his mind! He will run if he can get the financing!

"Your continued silence has been deafening to those of us who have continued to defend and support you." Awwww, Gary, your peers don't want to play with you anymore. Good.

Here's how Condit can still win: bring bILLclinton into the district to campaign for him. Have clinton run a retail campaign for a full week, stop everywhere, kiss all the "ladies," attack Republican "greed," etc. Actually though what kind of "lady" would let bILLclinton kiss her? Or bring Dr. Lewinsky in to campaign for Condit. He can swap his own bILLclinton stories with the voters there.

We won't forget, and we will continue to keep his name in front of the public here in Modesto. Every Saturday, HIGH NOON we freep the swine. Our numbers are small, but we are faithfully there to let the sheeple know that:
"WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN --- GARY CONDIT'S ROTTEN!!!"

Yeah but...the dumos own the People's Republic of Kalifornia and are making it more of a socialist state daily. Gov. Davis (gag!) just signed into law a number of socialist edicts that went 'way around what the people voted against, especially homosexual partner rights and financial benefits. I shudder for the State!

Hopefully, we will be able to rid ourselves of Davis next year. Bill Simon may be our best candidate.

Condit, too, is an evil doer. It is an evil way beyond politics. So evil is he that it will HELP Republicans if he remains a Democrat, forever and deeply infecting his party with his dark side.
