every time i hear mention of Camp Sumpter, aka Andersonville, i get CRAZED!(our SCV camp is the custodian of Capt Henry Wurtz's grave and that of Mrs. Surrat)

Point Lookout,HELLmira, Johnson's Island, Sharps' Landing, Rock Island and a dozen others were DAMNYANKEE DEATH CAMPS, in no means different than the death camps of the Nazis & USSR! the camps were designed intentionally, as an old prof of mine used to say to "be a place where you went in alive and came out dead".
