Why Is America
Ashamed Of Jesus?
America's Founding Fathers believed they were establishing a nation where Christians could work and worship freely. They made no pretenses to being agnostic or unbelieving.
Early in our country's existence, Benjamin Franklin wrote a pamphlet called, "Information to Those who would Remove to America." It was intended to be a guide for Europeans who were thinking of relocating to America. In it he said, "Hence, bad examples to youth are more rare in America, which must be comfortable consideration to parents. To this may be truly added that serious religion, under its various denominations, is not only tolerated, but respected and practiced. Atheism is unknown there; Infidelity rare and secret; so that persons may live to a great age in that country without having their piety shocked by meeting with either an Atheist or an Infidel."
The concluding paragraph in the U.S. Constitution says, "Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven . . ." The framers were obviously not referring to Mohammed.
Daniel Webster also paid public tribute to America's Christian heritage when he said, "Finally, let us not forget the religious character of our origin. Our fathers were brought higher by their high veneration for the Christian [not Muslim] religion. They journeyed by its light, and labored in its hope. They sought to incorporate its principles with the elements of their society, and to diffuse its influence through all their institutions, civil, political, or literary."
Webster went on to say, "Let us cherish these sentiments, and extend this influence still more widely; in full conviction that that is the happiest society which partakes in the highest degree of the mild and peaceful spirit of Christianity."
On November 20, 1798, in his last Will and Testament, Patrick Henry wrote, "This is all the inheritance I give to my dear family. The religion of Christ will give them one which will make them rich indeed."
It is obvious that America's founders were not ashamed of Jesus Christ or of the Christian faith. It is fortunate for them that they are not around today to see how their descendants handle the matter of religion.
Today, America's military chaplains cannot pray in Jesus' name. In virtually every opening prayer of every governmental body across the country, the name of Jesus is purposely omitted. A plethora of public prayer services following the attacks on September 11 failed to mention Jesus' name. An appeal to virtually every pagan god in the world has been made, but there have been hardly any references to the Lord Jesus.
In fact, throughout America, virtually all references to our Savior have been obliterated. Manger scenes have been removed from public property and so have crosses and other symbols of Christianity. Public school choirs no longer sing Christmas songs; they now sing about "winter solstice." Easter vacation has become "spring break." For all practical purposes, Jesus Christ has been vanquished from our public life.
Yet, this is a country whose major holidays include the celebrations of Jesus' birth, death, and resurrection. It is a country that was dedicated to "the glory of G-d and advancement of the Christian faith (Mayflower Compact). Even within the U.S. Constitution (a document liberals say is totally secular in its content) is the recognition of the Christian worship day. Article 1, Section 7, Paragraph 2: "If any bill shall not be returned by the President within ten Days (Sundays excepted)."
If we were really the patriots we should be, we would be doing everything in our power to restore the name of Jesus Christ to its rightful place of honor within our land. Anything less is too little too late.
Well Stated!
I think it is too late! Dont turn around and look back..
(the code words are Monarch=executive power, priests=judicial power, God's appointment are made through the voice of a real prophet, i.e. someone who has enough intelligence to predict accurately prophecies, as opposed to a demagogue)
The Monarch 17:14 When you come to the land that God your Lord is giving you, so that you have occupied it and settled it, you will eventually say, 'We would like to appoint a king, just like all the nations around us.'
17:15 You must then appoint the king whom God your Lord shall choose. You must appoint a king from among your brethren; you may not appoint a foreigner who is not one of your brethren.
17:16 [The king,] however, must not accumulate many horses, so as not to bring the people back to Egypt to get more horses. God has told you that you must never again return on that path.
17:17 He [also] must not have many wives, so that they not make his heart go astray. He shall likewise not accumulate very much silver and gold.
17:18 When [the king] is established on his royal throne, he must write a copy of this Torah as a scroll edited by the Levitical priests.
17:19 [This scroll] must always be with him, and he shall read from it all the days of his life. He will then learn to be in awe of God his Lord, and carefully keep every word of this Torah and these rules.
17:20 He will then [also] not begin to feel superior to his brethren, and he will not stray from the mandate to the right or the left. He and his descendants will thus have a long reign in the midst of Israel.
We ask the Almighty to grant us help one more time and we ask the republicans in office to shoulder the work. Will the next election once again shove the Almighty, the republicans and the patriots, those who believe in our Constitution, back in the closet again? Will the Media tell you that lying, cheating, squandering tax dollars, grabbing your lands, selling your national security, dumbing down your children with socially engineered schools, and on and on is perfectly alright?
It isn't a question of being Ashamed of Jesus, it is a question of when-do-we-need-him.
Espousing Politically Correct-isms seems to undermine the beauty and truth of the Almighty.
You might ask why so many feel threatened by Christianity; as Americans, if we truly are Americans, that is our culture; that is why there is an America, Home of the Brave and Land of The Free.
Now that we've all come together am I no longer sentenced to an eternity in Hell for being Jewish?
And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
You are pulling my leg aren't you? Being politically correct all the time is really a drag. See you at the JCC.
The answer to your question is right here. People love darkness and they deny the source of their strength- God.
There is a case making it's way through the court system right now that asks that the name of Jesus not be invoked in any prayer of any political entity from local community meetings of the city council on up to the legislative branches.
Political correctness gone crazy again in the name of "free trade" and "open borders", and "diversity". It is fitting and just that the event that would slap us in the face, and endanger our existance, for abandoning our God would be an attack from a radical branch of a pagan religion.
While we are told to live in peace as much as possible with all men until He returns, it does not entitle us to abandon the holy name of Jesus. But that is the government we have now, and their future is getting dimmer every decade that goes by. Not if you consider money, we do well so far in money, and power, but that can all end in a heartbeat, and will if all that is founded on the shifting sands of chance.
Looking at history the last thing to go for a great nation is it's power and wealth, so I am thinking that while we may prosper for a time while losing our freedom and our Christian brith right, the end will be the same for us as for Rome and all the others.
