I watched the N.Y. America United concert today on the VH1 website so the picture wasn't that good but the sound was. I couldn't believe it when the Republican policemen and firemen started booing Senator Clinton when she walked on stage. They did the same exact thing when the Fire Commissioner was introduced. The boos were just as loud, if not louder. This is the guy who always does the press conferences with Guiliani. The first few days he always cried when giving the numbers of the firemen who died. Why would they do that to him? Maybe there is a conflict here with him that I don't know about.
Regardless, these heroes, have tarnished their image quite a bit with their actions during this concert. They have forgotten that this concert was watched by millions of people, who have heard Senator Clinton do nothing but praise the policemen, firemen, Mayor Guiliani, Gov. Pataki, and Bush, for the last month.
The millions of people, who watched this concert, also saw her go to Washington the day after the attacks, to get the money needed to take care of the clean-up and the families left behind. She provided comfort to the victims' families with no thought to which political party they belonged to.
She is also the one who will make sure that the families of the dead policemen and firemen will be taken care of when everyone else has gone home. She will be the one who will make sure that the people of New York are not forgotten by the government. She is the one who will be there for them when the stars are gone, and the public's interest has waned, and the limelight has shifted to the soldiers' stories. And it will; it always does.
Millions of people watched Republican policemen and firemen, boo the Fire Commissioner and Senator Clinton at a concert that was to honor the memory of their dead comrades, who were Democrats and Republicans. Not one Democrat booed Mayor Guiliani or Gov. Pataki.
I don't believe that the heroes who died, who were Democrats, would have liked the actions of their Republican friends at this concert. They probably would have told them that politics has no business at a memorial concert for dead heroes.
Watch for yet more smears against NYC firefighters and police over at the DU Forum. Those folks just can't contain their TRUE feelings about firefighters and police for long.
Hey, DU! You've been EXPOSED once again! What are you going to do now? Remove the thread like you did yesterday after you were exposed?
Why are you assuming that all the firemen and cops booing her are Republicans? Just because someone is a Democrat, it doesn't meant that they are necessarily mindless Clinton supporters (although ignorant stupid people seem to naturally gravitate to the Dem party. I cite this article as evidence)!

I am sure they forgot nothing of the sort, and remember what the real Hillary thinks of the NYPD as evidenced by her manifold criticisms of them. Some last minute fainthearted praise (when she knew that criticism would unleash a torrent of hate mail) is hardly indicative of support for the cops, and cannot erase the indelible stains of her earlier remarks. Ask the Secret Service!
I'm sure they hold a lot of respect for the NYPD and the NYFD, just as long as they're Democrats. Republicans, no matter how heroic, need never apply with the Democrats. And, of course, they're not allowed be critical of anyone. Sure, I heard a few Dems say they thought it was great Bush got poked at a little with Will Ferrells Bush impression, but forbid nary a negative peep be peeped about Hillary.
And how much praise did she heap on these people before the disaster? Answer: None.
The word honor is a foriegn concept to the Clintons. I don't know if the Slickster was invited to speak, but she was a walk on. I don't blame the audience for being angry. This evening was about the heros, not about her.
Keep criticism of our heroes up though, you couldn't do a better service to anti-Hitlery forces (unless of course you tried to suppress the military vote like Gore did).
Spiney, You need to go back and read the post, PJ's not saying these things, he is reporting what was said by others.

ANDjust exactly how do they know that...?
See these folks deal with street hustlers and con artist all the time. They understand that she views them as a photo op. They know that she sees the WTC outrage as an opportunity for political grandstanding rather than a call to arms for this nation.
Bravo to the Cops, Firemen and EMS officers from NYC and the PA.
DemocraticUnderground goes on to say: "Did you know that all these police and firemen are planning to write books? That's right. There's a profit motivation here. Besides, they were just asking for it, dressed like they were dressed. Did you know I have it on certain anonymous authority that some of these people were convicted of petty crimes somewhere along the way! Thats right! CRIMINALS! Besides, who besides themselves calls them heros? What shameless self-promoters! They ought to be ashamed of themselves! Lets identify them on our website and shame them by killing their cats and slashing their tires and threatening them when they jog in the morning."
All this "hero" talk from them is a fraud. They hate the NYPD and the NY Firemen only slightly less.
