Night Ranger Concert Nets $98 for Victims

Albany, Ga (SatireWire.com)--Once-famous rockers Night Ranger held a benefit concert in the Piedmont Taproom of the Albany Holiday Inn last night, donating all ticket proceeds from this stop on its new U.S. tour to victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The band raised an estimated $98.48.

Nearly two dozen people paid the $4 + tax cover charge to hear the 1980s group, whose hits include "Sister Christian" and "Rock in America." Several audience members said they were thrilled to be a part of a such a magical evening.

"I really just went to the bar for a drink, but that Lone Ranger was pretty good," recalled 45-year-old Bruce Handstern, a school supply salesman staying at the hotel. "Plus it was 99-cent buffalo-wing night."

"I love this country, but I was disappointed that Night Stranger didn't play Free Bird like I asked 'em," said Christina Pleal, a taproom regular.

Added Night Ranger drummer Kelly Keagy: "We'll be rockin' for America at the Piedmont Taproom through Friday."

Heck, I'd have doubled that for them NOT to play (alright, I confess, I have a few Night Ranger cds in my collection, but I don't listen to them - honest).

Just a little real-market information - a friend recently tried to hire Great White to play at his wedding (don't ask me why) and he decided against it when they wanted 15 large.

LOL!!

This made me think of something that happened back in 1994. Remeber when Jocelyn Elders commented after a fund raiser:"I just love that Eric Clapner; I just love Mr. Clapner's music".

About a year or so ago, they played a small bar here in Tallahassee. Jani Lane was so drunk he fell of the stage after a few songs, and couldn't continue. I think the bar would have had to given people there money back, but there were only a dozen or so people there(So I heard).
