Three letters to the editor in the last two days, castigating Tommie D. for holding up the ANWR legislation, in South Dakota's biggest newspaper might have something to do with it.

Judging by your stupid "killing off the rest of the natural land" comment, I can tell you've never been out west or even to Alaska.
There are VAST quantities of wilderness in this country, but you have to open up your jaded eyes to see it.

Word began circulating in the Senate this morning that Alaska Drilling will be passed. And then it will be tied up in the courts for the next five years by the enviro-wackos.

In wartime I fully support using that land for all the oil it can give us.

It wasn't even me, I had a first draft ready though. A lot of people in the area were tipped off by Rush and made it known to the general public here through the Gannett rag's editorial section. Goodness knows our left-wing paper wouldn't ever think about reporting it otherwise.

All the land and all the offshore we can drill. These arabs are going to cut us off and use oil for a pawn. We had better WAKE UP NOW before its too late.
To: GrndLkNatv1
"To bad they are going to kill the rest of the natural land in this country." Nonsense. It's when you DON'T drill enough that you get things such as the La Brea Tar Pits. Natural oil in the ground tends to seep up and pollute the top soil if it isn't drilled up in time. This happens in the ocean every day, and that often results in beaches becoming naturally polluted.

Drill, drill, drill. Let's cut off our need for Arab oil and tell them all to go straight to &*@&! (This is for the moderators who do not want us to use those dirty words, such as &*@& and *&@$ or even @$#*!).
To: umbra
Because freepers are very well read and always informed....
Who knows anything about just how much oil is available in Alaska?
I saw an article about oil reserves under "Gull Island"???
Huge amounts, Drill now!

To bad they are going to kill the rest of the natural land in this country is an incorrect opinion. It's also a bad argument. It's called the "false choice."

If you do have a PHD in math, your comments make you an even bigger idiot.
