9 news.com has recived numerous e-mails requesting information about a cat and three kittens found in the World Trade Center rubble.
As we reported last week, rescuers found the cat and its kittens curled up in a caton of napkins in the basement of what used to be a restaurant.
The cat was dehydrated and suffering from the flu, but vets expect a full recovery. She and her kittens named 'Freedom', 'Amber' (Waves of Grain) and 'Flag,' are now at an (undisclosed) animal shelter, where they will be put up for adoption in about a month.
There's already a long waiting list ot adopt the kittens but the Center for Animal Control in Brooklyn is still taking names. The phone number is (718) 272-7200. Be adivsed the center is recieving many calls as well and it may be a while before you actually get to talk to someone.

I would strongly encourage all NYPD, NYFD, United Airlines and Pentagon Workers to get applications in, if the White House doesn't get 'temporary custody' rights for now.

The kittens have great names. What do they call the cat? How about Liberty?

"...rescuers found the cat and its kittens curled up in a caton of napkins in the basement ..." A caton must be the kitty version of a futon.

No wonder they can't disperse the 1.5 billion in relief money. Hell, they can't even pick owners for a cat out of Lord knows how many people. That's insanity. I guess all the "in" people have their Cipro now, now they'll be bidding on the "Famous WTC Survivor Cats"? (mark my word)
"Oh, you mean YOU don't have a survivor cat? I'VE got mine, you peon, and I only had to donate 25 grand to the Imus Ranch"
