October 31, 2001 -- President Bush's opening pitch at Yankee Stadium last night was a perfect strike - part of a rousing patriotic prelude to the game that helped inspire the Yankees to their 2-1 win.
Although the Yankees are back from the dead, they still face an uphill battle in the World Series, which Arizona now leads 2-1.

Noticed when they showed President Bush in the dugout just before he took the field that one of the Yankees nearby tipped his hat to the President. Cool gesture but they're still going to lose to Arizona, I hope.

Man, I can't believe he didn't mention the bald eagle swooping into the stadium to land on his trainer's arm. Beyoootiful! GWB looked great throwing that pitch. Too bad the junior senator from NY missed it.
