Earth to Ivory Tower: Get Real! Multiculturalism, the enemy within.

Amid the intense and reassuring outpouring of patriotism in the aftermath of September 11, the discordant notes on the political and cultural left were easy to discount. Polls showed 90%-plus support for the president; the numbers favoring sustained military response were nearly as high. The bipartisan backing of administration policy was unprecedented, and the public soberly understood the gravity of the challenge. Yet there's reason to worry that as the shock wears off and the costs of war mount, the voices of those who would deny America's moral authority to defend itself will grow more insistent and will confront us with a different kind of danger.

the absurdity of all these screaming red leftists remind me of this Monty Python bit from Life of Brian:

Stan: It's every man's right to have babies if he wants them.
Reg: But you can't have babies.
Stan: Don't you oppress me.
Reg: I'm not oppressing you, Stan -- you haven't got a womb. Where's the fetus going to gestate? You going to keep it in a box?
[Stan starts crying.]
Judith: Here! I've got an idea. Suppose you agree that he can't actually have babies, not having a womb, which is nobody's fault, not even the Romans', but that he can have the *right* to have babies.
Francis: Good idea, Judith. We shall fight the oppressors for your right to have babies, brother. Sister, sorry.

Our Ritilin-drugged students are ripe for the plucking by these Professorial vampires striving to keep some semblance of life in their self-hatred, by sucking the blood from their students and turning them into leftist Zombies...

A contrast seems in order, this one involving the words written by Msgr. James H. O'Neill, chief chaplain of the Third Army, when George Patton called upon him during the Battle of the Bulge to pray for good weather, so that American planes might bomb the German forces besieging Bastogne. "Almighty and most merciful Father," he complied, "grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call upon Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies and establish Thy justice among men and nations."

...they so resist passing judgment that they shrink from seeing even murderous Islamic fundamentalism as the evil it is and shy away from the tough steps needed to crush it

Could it be they want to surrender? They want to be ruled by an iron fist? Or is it that they want publicity....? They found a way to get a headline by saying something outrageous.

If they are <1% of our population, why do they get 50% of the coverage?

"A Shy Nurse, Thrust Into Spotlight, Sends Bush a Plea for Peace": " 'I don't want my children to have to go to war to avenge their father's death,' she said Thursday, blue eyes blazing, her weary face momentarily seeming less worn."

If my wife had been killed in the attacks, I can think of no single thing that would make me more likely to approve of my son's going off to war than to avenge his own mother's death.

Where do rabbit-people like this poor pitiful nurse come from? Not from the loins of our Founding Fathers, that's for sure.

How different from my own parish priest, who is thoroughly infected with multiculturalism and social justice issues. His sermons suggest that anything more violent than sending a policeman over to Afghanistan with a subpoena for Osama is against God's will.

Disturbing, as even the Pope agrees with just war.
