Voter ID Before the Wisconsin Assemby Tomorrow
GOP e-mail | 11-5-01

Posted on 11/05/2001 5:55:17 AM PST by afraidfortherepublic

On Tuesday, November 6th, the Wisconsin Assembly will be taking up Assembly Bill 259. Authored by Rep. Scott Walker (R-Wauwatosa), AB259 would require that prospective voters display state-issued photo ID at the polling place to prevent potential voter irregularities, including fraud. If preventing widespread voter misconduct is an issue you care about, please consider contacting your representative, Republican or Democrat, and urge that member of the Assembly to SUPPORT AB259 this Tuesday!

I received the above announcement in my e-mail this morning. This is the first I've heard about this date, although I knew this was under consideration. This measure was knocked out of the budget bill by the Democrats earlier. Everyone whould make an effort to get behind this and contact your Representative. We want no more incidents like "Smokes for Votes" in Wisconsin.

Hopefully, something like this will go through.

If so, and it works, it just may spread to other states. End voter fraud. It is our only chance to keep our freedoms.

Good for Wisconsin!

ALthough I think the real "culprit" isn't an ID, it's the fact that you can register and vote the same day in that state.

That practice alone is prone to contininual election day abuses. Is Wisconsin the only state that allows this?

Let's hope this goes through and that it's simply the first step in fixing some of this fraud.

It was just appalling last November all the fraud that happened in this state. Of course the liberals whine that we will disenfranchise those without ID's. It's a start.

One question---What does it take to get a "voter ID"? Proof of citizenship? Birth certificate? Or can anyone with a drivers liscense get one?

In Wisconsin, a driver's license, a gas or electric bill with your name and address, or some other similar of document was used in the past. The last time I voted, I was not asked for anything.

Weren't Wisconsin University (Madison) and Marquette (Milwaukee) students bragging in November about voting multiple times, at multiple polling sites, and competing to see who could vote the most?

If voter fraud is stopped, voter participation will fall to less than 10%.

Wisconsin has no processes whatsoever to protect the integrity of the voting process. Even laws that are on the books already (and future laws like this, I'm afraid) are not enforced.

This last November an out-of-state (Demo)Rat Activist was caught on TV buying absentee votes from the homeless in Milwaukee with $2+ packs of Cigarettes! The law says anything over $1 is a BRIBE! The Millionaire Rat was from NY and is a big-wig in Demo circles, and She was NOT PROSECUTED despite having Video Evidence.

There are dozens of other examples of vote fraud here, but what can you do when the DemoRat District Attorney and Attorney General won't prosecute such obvious cases?

Here's my main source of information... FRee Republic, as always!

The most pertinent quote:"The Marquette Tribune, the university's student newspaper, surveyed 1,000 students and found 174 admitted voting more than once, said Michael McGraw, the Tribune's metro news desk editor."

17.4% of the population voting multiple times... if they vote average just 4.75 votes each (2+ absentee, 2+ polling places, 2+ signatures per polling place... easy enough), they can create their own majority victory, even if ALL of the other 82.6% vote for the opponent with 100% turnout. (And we wonder how Clinton could've won a second term!)

Great find! Thanks! Lemme ponder this one and see what kind of anti-vote-fraud activist efforts we can get going. I'm not all that far from the People's Republik of Madison.

Why should the state require photo ID?

-This discrimnates against residents of the state that may have legitimate illigitimate reason for not wanting a picture ID. Requiring picture ID is nothing more than a way to keep people from voting by making it harder for them to vote. We should be working to make it easier for people to vote so we get full participation...

Enough, just trying out the arguments that some actually forwarded before we all came to our senses. We have all now come to our senses havn't we?

Why was she not prosecuted?

She was not prosecuted because the district attorney that was in charge of the case, Mike McCann(sp?), is a Democrat hack, and therefore decided not to prosecute. Typical justice....

I hope it passes! With the face recognition software, I am sure that something similiar could be done to make sure that there are no more than one id per person!

Go Republicans! Bring Voter frauders to their knees!
