NOBODY NEEDS "A" GUN!(NOPE, YOU NEED AT LEAST SEVEN)

Im sure everyone has heard someone say at one point or another, "Nobody needs a gun. Guess what? They are right. The prudent person actually needs at least seven guns. Its no longer the days of "A rifle, a shotgun and a four-wheel drive". Every American needs to have the tools to prepared for a number of situations. Below is a discussion of what tools are needed and why:

1) .22 Caliber pistol: This is pretty self-explanatory for most people. A .22 caliber pistol is perfect for learning or teaching basic gun skills including marksmanship and safety. This type of gun can also be used to eliminate outdoor pests in a suburban setting where your neighbors might frown upon you firing a shotgun or large caliber pistol.

2) A compact, yet powerful gun for concealed carry: Most people have to be away from their homes or vehicles frequently and are in need of a compact gun that can be easily concealed. Many "experts" suggest nothing less than .38 special, but many times any gun is better than no gun at all.

3) A large caliber, full-sized handgun: Good for home defense. A gun chambered in .357, .40, 10mm, .44 or .45 is preferred.

4) 12 Gauge Shotgun: A shotgun may be the most versatile gun out there. A shotgun can be used for hunting, but also makes an excellent home defense tool. Military style shotguns also make a good combat weapon. Shotguns usually end rioting and looting pretty quickly as well.

5) .22 Caliber Rifle: Just as one needs a .22 caliber pistol, a rifle chambered in .22 is needed for the same reasons. These include basic skills and marksmanship. This gun can also be used to kill outdoor pests and very small game.

6) High-powered, scoped rifle for hunting or sniping: This is another essential tool needed by everyone, regardless of where you live. One always needs to be able to kill large game if needed and needs to be proficient at shooting long-range. Many hunters prefer certain guns, but something chambered in .300, .30-06, .270 or .308 should suffice.

7) High-powered, military style gun that can accept full-capacity magazines: Ahh, the gun the government does not want you to have. Is there any other reason why you need one? Everyone needs a high-powered rifle that can accept 30 round magazines. Whether you prefer an AR-15, AK style guns or FN-FAL's, there is no substitute for this tool.

These seven basic tools should be in the possession of all freedom loving Americans. The events of September 11, 2001 show that you may never know when you need these tools. Its always better to be prepared than to be sorry

I thought another "must have" was a "street sweeper", for riots, massive war attacks, and other fun stuff.

It's the pedestrians "daisy cutter".

7 guns is a minimum. Call it a "starter set." If your wife, after much consternation, allows you to have only one gun, which one would should you get?

Yeah, money does get to be an issue. Even if I could afford the chain gun, I probably couldn't afford to keep it in ammunition for more that 5 minutes.

Yeh, it is just the basic set of guns. Some guys out there might not want to let their less-than understanding wives see this; she might think it means you only need seven guns. LOL!!

I hope you were kidding about them being "illegal" (I figure that's why the quotes). For the record, they're completely legal.

I would opt for a new wife. But that's not a problem. Her weapons tend to be more expensive than mine.

I would also add a pocket pistol, probably in .32 ACP, which will be a backup for concealed carry, or primary when a larger gun can not be concealed. (Carry an extra magazine when it is the primary, because more shots are needed to stop an assailant than with larger calibers.)

The first one should be for her.

Then, you can use the old "but honey I need one, too." routine.
