Revelation(s) at Georgetown

Washington Times reporter Joseph Curl got the dubious assignment of covering the latest[“Clinton calls terror a U.S. debt to past”] in fortunately former finger waving president Bill Clinton’s $100K speeches; this one at his alma mater, Georgetown University, continuing his pattern of mistreating women - even in a symbolic sense.

But the good news is Mr. Curl dutifully reported what to the listening and rational in the audience (if any) had to be one of those jaw-dropping “Can you believe he actually said that!” moments.

Arriving a typically rude 45 minutes late (what does an ex-president have to do that’s so important?), he eventually got around to the evening’s pontifications, telling the assembled multitude “Here’s how I think you ought to think about it”:

" If you live in a country where you're never required to take responsibility for yourself, where you never even have to ask whether there's something you should be doing to solve your own problems, then people are kept in kind of a permanent state of collective immaturity and it becomes quite easy for them to believe that someone else's success is the cause of their distress.

"We've got to defeat people who think they can find their redemption in our destruction. And then we have to be smart enough to get rid of our arrogant self-righteousness so that we don't claim for ourselves things we deny for others."

Does that qualify for one of the "Top Ten Great Ironic Moments" or what!?

Now remember your parsing lessons from the past 8 years as we take a closer look:

If you live in a country where you’re never required to take responsibility for yourself…

Amazing. This coming from the guy who got gold medals playing and perfecting the Blame Game! Blame the evil Republicans! Blame the Congress! Blame talk radio! Poor potty training! anything but take responsibility for actions that embarrassed, if not corrupted, coarsened, endangered the country. At the very least, it was the presidents Clinton who taught us we’d neverrrr waaaalk alonnnne - 'cuz there would always be someone nearby to blame.

“…where you never even have to ask whether there's something you should be doing to solve your own problems…”

Another pearl! Trying soooooo hard to paraphrase his hero JFK’s infamous and altruistic two liner (“Ask not what your country…” etc.), Clinton characteristically calls the kettle black. How could anyone have lived through the previous administration and walked away with the idea that we should all be toting our own load of individual responsibility when Clinton & Co. busted their butts (and a lot of our laws) seeing to it that Big Government would handle the messy business of life betwixt Womb and Tomb? All that was required from us “ordinary citizens” was to dedicate ourselves to morphing from good little worker bee’s to unquestioning lemmings to obedient sheep as Bill and Hill managed the hard parts at our expense - and their profits.

“…then people are kept in kind of a permanent state of collective immaturity and it becomes quite easy for them to believe that someone else's success is the cause of their distress.”

WOW! And the hits just keep onnnn coming! What better description of the “Me Generation”, the Whiners and Self-Indulgent who learned at Clinton’s knee (in more ways than one!) that they were entitled to Government freebies at every turn, funded by Government largess (i.e. your extorted tax dollars) simply because…well, he felt your pain.

And let’s not overlook that last little item: class envy. Count how many times you recall speeches, press conferences, Sunday talk shows pounding away at the nasty Rich and the Greedy who were exploiting the “less fortunate” while "failing to pay their fair share”, thus justifying even more confiscatory taxes, fees, and Big Government regulations so all those Poor and Destitute could be coddled with non-stop government goodies.

As a semi-petulant Bill mercifully wrapped things up, he dropped a couple more bon mots as he headed out the door.

Mr. Curl notes: “At the end of his speech, Mr. Clinton who was impeached for lying under oath about a sexual relationship with a 21-year-old White House intern said the entire issue revolves around "the nature of truth."

"This battle fundamentally is about what you think about the nature of truth," he said, noting that God has imposed on us the inability to ever know "the whole truth."

That’s right, boys and girls! Never let an opportunity pass to put in a plug for good ole Moral Relativism - and a side order of Blame! Now it’s God who has imposed on us the inability to ever know “the whole truth”. What a Meanie! Here He gives us these wonderful gifts of intellect, the ability to learn, to grow in knowledge and understanding - to even make it through Georgetown! But cruelly, He also installed a kind of “limiter” on the brains He gave us, stunting our ability to comprehend too much.

But hey Bill, you ole Bible-totter...Isn’t there a reasonably well-known verse somewhere between Adam and Armageddon where someone (the Apostle John maybe?) wrote, “Ye shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free”? Or did some ancient scribe accidentally forget to include the Greek word for “whole” and no similarly ancient proofreader caught it before press time?

And here I thought it was just the penalties for perjury and the old “what the definition of IS” thing that kept us from knowing “the whole truth”. But then, I didn’t attend Georgetown.

Finally, here’s the last in the Clinton string of pearls:

"This is not a perfect society but it is stumbling in the right direction," he said.

If our fortunately former finger waver had just kept his pants up, society might be striding rather than “stumbling” on its way to perfection. Brian Wilson

The herpes has finally taken over Clinton's brain. Uhhhhhh, perhaps HERP*SS has finally taken over his brain cavity. Has he really had a human brain in there for a long time? . . . without demonic control, I mean.

If you were surprised by Clinton's statement, then you're an idiot! If you voted for Clinton, then you're a drooling idiot!! I just wish he'd have said this back in 1992.

It is brilliant and makes absolute sense. I wish George Bush were saying it. Alan Keyes is dismissed as a radical for having said the same thing for years. But where was it eight years ago when he was preaching the opposite? Where was it during his campaigns? When the hell did he live by these new-found epiphanies?

This could be an indication that his brain has collapsed into his sinuses and his red nose is about to fall off.

Have often wondered why Bimbo Crusher is still running around loose--I mean, why God didn't cause him to be eaten instantly by worms like a leader in the NEW TESTAMENT. . .

Perhaps it is because SO many in the U.S.A. still deserve him as their champion.

Perhaps it is because his place in hell is so excruciating, even God would prefer to mercifully delay his entry thereto.
