Though the elite media remain largely silent on ex-President Clinton's outrageous comments this week linking the 9/11 terrorist attacks to pre-Civil War slavery, at least one civil rights leader says he was disgusted by the episode.
It's a shame that a former president would attempt to use the plight of black Americans for his own publicity," said the Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson on Friday.
His desire for power and publicity outweighs any concern for what is right," he added.
Peterson heads up the Brotherhood Organization for a New Destiny (BOND).
In a speech at Georgetown University Wednesday night, Clinton began a rambling dissertation on terrorism and argued the U.S. is "paying a price today" for sins of the past.
Here in the United States, we were founded as a nation that practiced slavery, and slaves quite frequently were killed even though they were innocent," Clinton observed.
But Peterson said it isn't the institution of slavery, but instead the Clinton administration, that deserves blame for the 9/11 attacks.
It is clear that Bill Clinton not only failed in the war against terrorism, it can certainly be argued that his administration aided and abetted them," the civil rights leader contended in a column for The Washington Dispatch.
Bill and Hillary Clinton's statements and actions prior to September 11 are public record, and should be carefully examined," Peterson added. "Whatever they have said and done since the tragedy that does not match up with their pre-September 11 words and deeds should be regarded as spin at best."

I was furious over Clinton's remarks, and it's typical that the press didn't cover them. He was a President of the United States, no matter how bad! How dare he say 9/11 was "pay back" -- and to go so far as the Crusades! Please!
Clinton loathes America, and it is now public record -- AGAIN!

Not much media attention paid to the fact that a $250million dollar empowerment grant was turned over by Rangel to Johnnie Cochran to administer. The office of empowerment just happens to be in slick willie's harlem office building. When are the people in Harlem going to wake up and realize they are being exploited BIG TIME.

Clinton's a disgusting piece of walking, mewling excrement. He is to be ignored.

You know Ol' Jessee Peterson Talks the talk, walks the walk & tells the truth. Something Slick Willie & Jessee JackAss have never even thought about. He is & should be the leader that Blacks look to for leadership, cause we all know that the latter 2 are nothing but Lying traitorous scumbags.

Now just look at this, I cannot believe my eyes! Here is Bill Clinton, of all people, talking about the "sins of the past". So what is supposed to be the analogy of this? It seems that he is saying that America has sinned and now she has got to pay. So what about Bill Clinton and all his sins? Bubba better look out, for Bubba has got to pay for his own sins that are so horrible that is is still even embarassing yet to put it into print. Shame on you, Bill, but you were the one who brought up the subject of "paying for sin". You have better look out, for you have retributions yet to come. Are you ready to pay up?

Oh, now, he has a point; after all, we know how many atrocities America committed during the Crusades. /sarcasm

Would that there were more like Petersen. Unfortunately, he is but a small voice in a hurricane.

I understand that you can still impeach an ex-president. Of course, all you can do is take away his pension and whatever other perks he may receive as a former chief executive. I'm sure that Congress wouldn't bother right now, but a few more public-relations blunders like this Georgetown speech and who knows...

Pity about this is, not many people outside of Freepers and Fox viewers have a clue who Jesse Lee Peterson is.
He is not considered one of the "mainstream" Civil Rights leaders (ala: Jesse Jackass, Al Not-So-Sharpton)
To: HELLRAISER II
I think alot of people are finally seein how he really is.
To: classygreeneyedblonde
Excuse me, BUT Mr. Scumbag gave the EXACT speech in Oct. when he visited our town! The media was silent then and they'll be silent this time around too!
To: classygreeneyedblonde
Wish we could count on this getting as much coverage as it deserves, but truth gets very low ratings these days.

Let him keep babbling in that meth/coke induced stupor he's been in for so long, and maybe ONE DAY the people will wake up... I'd love to see him having to scramble for only what he can steal with the help of the Sharptons and other thugs...

I saw clips from the Clinton speech yesterday on Fox (Brit Hume) and I thought to myself, he is high. Now, I see on FR since yesterday many other people saw it on their own. It must be true as we had not noticed this in other outrageous Clinton speeches lately. I would hope somehow this will come out publicly as a fact.
