So far Bush has paused once or twice...and the General Assembly responded with silence. I am irritated at this so-called "body of nations" that want "peace". Seems like they're giving Bush the cold shoulder...and I remember how they CHEERED disgraceful 42 when he was in the middle of impeachment.

The Leader of the World is speaking and the audience knows it!

Great speech.
"There is no corner of the earth distant or dark enough to proctect them."...
"This threat cannot be ignored. This threat cannot be appeased."
"History will record our response and judge or justify every nation in this hall."
To: JohnPaulJones
He's reading them the riot act now.

Perish the thought but won't the UN be wonderful when Wee Willie Wankel becomes the Sec-Gen?

AS if WE enforce our own laws and control our own borders? I think we need to remove the mote in our own eye before we start offering to help others.
Notice how no one is applauding? That worries me....the first problem I've seen with the speech is offering to help other countries having trouble with the above...

"Good riddance" to the Taliban! classic!!
To: Recovering_Democrat
"We, unlike the Taliban, seek to minimize civilian casualties" met with dead silence. You are correct. We should have withheld payment and maybe he'd have held their attention??????
To: Ironword
hope you're right, iron. :) otherwise, i'm gonna be one angry ex-Democrat.

He's speaking with numerous pauses for the translators.
Good point. NOW, then, let's see what reaction he gets after his speech is finished, then????

Diplomacy's messy. We will not be making the necessary changes overnight, re. immigration and border control or every other national security measure that's been weakened over the years in the name of multiculturalism and buying votes. We will be making changes. We are certainly not intentionally harboring these terrorists.

Hopefully, the delegates offer applause at the end of this straight-talkin' speech -- if not, kick 'em all out.

He is incredibly eloquent.
I did not think he could do better than his last speech.
This one, he started off talking about a Gambian killed in 911,
and took the attention of the UN completely.
Well done. We have an amazing President who has arisen to the moment.
To: Recovering_Democrat
Would President Bush have been invited to speak if the U.S. had not made the payment to the u.n.?
