Rummy Spanks Snotty Reporters--AGAIN!

I just saw a clip on Fox introduced by a smiling Brit Hume.
It shows a female reporter chiding Sec Rumsfeld for reporting military success after success in Afghanistan. She was incredibly haughty (as they all seem to be--typical) and asked him if he feared a "last ditch Taliban terrorist attack on the US" to make us pay for our audacity for punishing the Taliban.
In classic Rummy style, he repeated the question almost verbatim for the cameras and for everyone in the room (which made her feel ridiculous) and then said in effect:
'Of coarse we are concerned about a terrorist attack. You see, they have already attacked us. But to suggest that by not continuing what we are doing will some how make an attack less likely..to appease them?...is....nonsense.
It is like feeding an aligator in the hopes that he will eat you last."
With that, the press room filled with laughter and many of them felt stupid for a collegue--AGAIN. The Snotty Reporters should have seen this happening after SNL ripped them apart during the Gulf War for acting like "So Superior Morons"--but then hubris knows no bounds.
WAY TO GO RUMMY!

The Left has never handled three things very well:
1. Being Ridiculed,
2. Being Quoted,
3. Losing.

Mr Rumsfeld why can't the media go on a secret mission?=== cuz' its secret.................. General, what is the intent of dropping a daisy cutter bomb? (I think that one was a FoX reporter)==== the intent is to kill people... there have been some stupid questions.

He is just fabulous. I never heard of him before President Bush brought him into our lives, and I am just so impressed with his strength and honesty. He tells it like it is and that is soooo refreshing.
I love how he reflects back to the reporter his/her stupidity! Masterful!

Someone who calls it like he sees it. How refreshing. Take no crap from these airheads, Donny. Put them in their place, and humiliate their leftist ideologies for the 'nonsense' that it is.

I can only assume overweaning ambition would cause a member of the press corp today to pose these hilariously stupid questions--that and the strange tendency for leftwingers to be masochistic personalities.

I saw that and just felt so happy to see him rip that idiot a new one. I had been thinking that Rumsfeld was coming acccross as an elitist, who had no care for opinion in the past months. He's back on the top of my list of good guy's after his press conference today. Spank is exactly the adjective. That aligator line was great!

Runsfeld is an old hand. He was involved in Reagan's administration as a special ambassador. He earned some stripes in Lebanon.. I believe he supervised the expulsion of the PLO from Lebanon.

I used to believe everything I read... I used to think the press really knew what is going on. It seems over a period of time, it has become apparent that many of these people lack common sense as well as good judgement. Indoctrinated by the liberal institutions in which they came from and the elitist attitudes of their superiors (Brokaw, Jennings, Rather, etc.) The media always recovers when they have a huge credibility problem, though, as they do now. Remember how the media said we would need 100,000 body bags during the Gulf War? Great military experts these folks are not. Considering their pedigree, they need to stick with what they do know, but often forget, REPORT THE FACTS and quit asking stupid questions!

C - SPAN Watch Pentagon Briefing with Defense Sec. Donald Rumsfeld (11/13/2001)
It takes 4 minutes and 30 seconds before the briefing begins.

Here is my candidate for Best Dumb Question, courtesy of the Media Research Center's Notable Quotables:
You said that the air strikes are deliberately designed not to hit residential centers, but you also say that the Taliban is hiding weapons, stockpiling weapons in residential areas. Have you ruled out the possibility of dropping leaflets days in advance of an air strike to get residents out and saying, This could become a military target? Is that something, without discussing future operations, could you see that possibly coming to fruition?
Question from an unidentified male reporter to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld at an Oct. 30 military briefing.
I wish MRC had included Rumsfeld's reply! I hope he peeled that dummy like a banana.

Runsfeld is an old hand. He was involved in Reagan's administration as a special ambassador. Actually he goes way back, to the Ford administration, along with VP Cheney. They are old associates. Rumsfeld has also been CEO of a major US Corporation. He's nearly 70 years old, and sharp as a tack. Just the right man, for the job. When/if this is over, he'd be a good guy for Sec. of State. Notice we don't hear much from Powell, these days?

You're right, but tell me even ONE THING the left has handled well! I'm waiting ... waiting .... waiting ...

Thanks for filling the gaps. I am too young to remember much of Ford. I had no idea he was in his 70's. He is sharp, and hard. He has a lot of vigor! I should hope to be as strong as he at 70. (or even 40!)

Powell has been sent downstairs to hang out with the Arabists in the state department while the big boys clean up their mess.
