Reporter Asanobu Sato (in Japanese) reports from Islamabad that Taliban source has indicated that things are rapidly deteriorating; that certain elements within Taliban (specifically in and around Kandahar) now have risen up in revolt against mullah Omar, Taliban leader. Others have strongly demanded that Taliban reject and remove binLaden and AlQaeda from Taliban decision-making process.
Others, low level infantry, are said to be deserting throughout the country and going over to local tribal leadership to now fight Taleban. The Japanese reporter used the word that Taleban is now splitting up and is imploding due to the loss of nearly 80% to 90% of the country to the NA combined with merciless USA bombing, and the mass panic and confusion in their wholesale retreat.
The blame game is starting, just as Bush and Rumsfeld predicted. The wedges have been driven deep it appears and the cracks are happening with rapid speed.
Goodbye Taleban. Can't say its been nice knowing you....

Time to remind the fleeing Taliban that Mullah Omar and bin Laden's heads are worth tens of millions of dollars.
Why we're not dropping leaflets saying just that all over creation just bewilders me.

We must get their heads on sticks, or this whole campain will come short.

I'll say it again...Don't forget the cadaver for Al Zhawari either. He's the nastiest of them all.

OK Talibeaners, if you wish to remain alive you will direct our special forces to Omar and Osamma. If not, you and everyone in your family will die in a fashion not in accordance with the teachings of Allah.

We absolutely must have the bodies (dead or alive) of these evil ones.
martyrdom............shmartyrdom.
God bless the true patriot.

Are you SERIOUS? You actually quote N-synch?
Do you really listen to that? Are you even old enough to vote?
Quick, someone give him a Pat Boone record to listen to.

The hardline Islamic rule of Afghanistan's Taliban unraveled on November 14, 2001, as diplomats scrambled to establish a new government and restore stability to a weary nation wounded by two decades of civil war. This Reuters graphic updates territorial gains made by Northern Alliance and U.S. led forces in their war against the Taliban, amid added reports that Kandahar had also been taken by the U.S.-Northern Alliance coalition. Asanobu Sato is the name of the reporter, the name of the news service is the Yomiuri Shimbun. (actually a persistent mis-transliteration of japanese into roma-ji, should be Shi'nbun, since there is no freestanding "m" in japanese).

Yes, they were apparently just a little quick on reporting it.

I mentioned it yesterday, but it bears repeating - Osama has a price on his head. On his head - the rest of his body is optional, and in Afghanistan that makes a difference.

Actually, 'shimbun' is an accepted romanization of the Japanese original by some standards. The problem is there is no ONE accepted standard for romanization. Some japanese syllables change pronounciation (n to m) depending on the surrounding letters and the word in question. But, back to the subject, I wish I had a GPS location on Osama right now... I could use a few million dollars!
