Just saw it, 12:15 p.m., EST. CNN Headline News story, complete with Harris's picture and a background graphic with the very words, "Katherine Harris vindicated".
The story was about the findings of the recount.
And the announcer read the words, "The Democrats had accused Harris . . .".

Is this the Twilight Zone? What is going on here? It must be about the ratings and the money.
In a word, I am gobsmacked.

Post this date on your calendar. This won't happen again. The CNN people must have had some loco weed mixed in with their feed.

Sweet news for sure, there has to be a catch (22 that is).

Gobsmacked?
I don't know about that but the fact that it was on the "Clinton News Network" really "gassed my flabber!"
To: KillerWabbit
I'm bumfuzzled.
To: KillerWabbit
gobsmacked...?? That's funny!

This is the same old trick that Chris Matthews uses. Pretend to be on the other side once in a while to sucker in some viewers.

Remember a couple of months ago the Chief of CNN met with the Republicans?
This is obviously due to the fact that Faux News is whipping them.

Post this date on your calendar. This won't happen again. I dunno. Didn't I just recently hear that the news director (someone in authority, anyway) at CNN has instructed the newscastors there to continue reminding the viewers of the reasons why we are in Afghanitan -- not to simply report on the events there, in other words.
So, maybe that cat actually is trying to alter its stripes a little. That would certainly be refreshing.

We wandered into "Wonderland" or "The Twilight Zone" for a short visit.
Don't worry, be happy, this too shall pass.

Well, I'll be a red-faced Japanese snow-monkey.

All anybody had to do was look at what the law said. Katherine Harris followed the law to the letter. For doing that she was reviled by the Democrats and the liberal media. I guess after 8 years of Clinton they came to believe that the rule of law was unaceptable.
To: KillerWabbit
Remember CNN is under new leadership. I think you will see a tilt to the center.

Soooo true
To: KillerWabbit
But how can she be right? She wore too much make-up, and that dress . . . such was the incisive analysis of Maureen Dowd a year ago.

Katherine Harris doesn't need vindication. Her responsibility in the election is described in the following Florida statute:
102.111 Elections Canvassing Commission. --
(1) Immediately after certification of any election by the county canvassing board, the results shall be forwarded to the Department of State concerning the election of any federal or state officer. The Governor, the Secretary of State, and the Director of the Division of Elections shall be the Elections Canvassing Commission. The Elections Canvassing Commission shall, as soon as the official results are compiled from all counties, certify the returns of the election and determine and declare who has been elected for each office.
In the event that any member of the Elections Canvassing Commission is unavailable to certify the returns of any election, such member shall be replaced by a substitute member of the Cabinet as determined by the Director of the Division of Elections. If the county returns are not received by the Department of State by 5 p.m. of the seventh day following an election, all missing counties shall be ignored, and the results shown by the returns on file shall be certified.
It doesn't matter what fairy tales the media makes up about what might have happened if Florida, unlike 49 other states, had decided to count overvotes. And it doesn't matter if the media, desperate to prop up ratings, pretends to support Bush for a while.
What matters about Katherine Harris is that she did her job.

Now, when CNN announces that they unfairly gave those claims against Harris great prominence in their newscasts, that will be something.

So, maybe that cat actually is trying to alter its stripes a little. That would certainly be refreshing. With all due respect, that would be impossible. Watch out, O ye Canary.
