HOWDY FREEPERS
One of the most disheartening things about the stuff going on here in Oklahoma is that when you go to a local or state message board to try get other observations on state matters, what you end up with is a bunch of X42 worshipers from the East Coast spamming the boards and whenever people from the state with differing opinions try to offer a different viewpoint, these goons resort to name calling and belittling and telling the people that they're wasting bandwidth.
These goons calim they're not violating the other's first amendment rights but the reality is they are and they know it. This has sadly become way too common with a number of message boards run by media outlets such as the Oklahoman and KJRH-TV out of Tulsa and many others.
One of the many state matters is the issue of Right-to-Work. This issue as you know passed by a margin of 54 to 45 percent. It opens the welcome mat for conservatives and christians to become part of their own communities in which they live.
Unfortunately, some special interest groups are now wanting to pull out this welcome mat and return the state to a third world status. They have filed a lawsuit which challenges this law and names the state as it's defendent.
What these groups do not seem to want to realize is that this law was written by the boards and passes constitutional and legal muster. It simply states that you cannot force conservatives and christians to contribute to causes they don't believe in in order to get a job. Clearly there is no constitutional right to force people to contribute to your cause but some seem to think differently and are now wanting to impose on those who clearly don't want to support their way of thinking.
The people of Oklahoma have stated very clearly they want conservatives and christians to be a part of their own communities. They know full well the intelilectual and economic impact of those of conservative political belief and people of faith. They know that without them many communities would not function at all. That's why 54% of Oklahoma voters passed Right-to-Work. Because they see how valuable conservatives and christians are to their own communities.
If this law does indeed get sturck down, it will not be because it was unconstitutional as some would like you to think. It will be because the groups filing the suit had enough money to buy the verdict. It seems anymore that money and influence have taken precedence over the rule of law. The rule of law IS NOT about preserving the social and political agenda of the Democrats or liberal or progressive groups. It is about preserving the laws as they are written in the Constitution. Unfortunately, some people seem to think otherwise and some of those people exist among us and are way beyond convincing. It's up to us as conservatives and christians to make sure they are not allowed to influence goverment policy.
1. As for "spamming" message boards, we freepers do it to other people a hell of a lot more than anyone does it to us. It is up to the owner of the property to police it. If the owner of the boards allows it to go on, then there is nothing wrong with it.
2. You are correct that the liberals are going to try to use the courts to overturn the will of the people. This has been a very successful tactic for them for the last 30 years.
3.It simply states that you cannot force conservatives and christians to contribute to causes they don't believe in in order to get a job.
It doesn't say that. It says that people are free to contribute to the union by their own choice, and cannot be forced to . If you go around telling people that this is about freedom for Christians and Conservatives, when in realtiy it is about freedom for everybody, you instantly lose large segments of the population from your cause. The issue is freedom, freedom is for everyone.
Sounds a little like some here. The problem with free speech is it's free to everyone even the terminally stupid, and those that live in a world with more than one moon.

The differnece between forums is that this is a national forum and people from all over America can participate. There's nothing wrong with that. the only thing is I just would not try to participate in a state or local forum unless I'm from that region and am familiar with the area and the issues discussed. I'm of the belief that courtesy, manners and good taste requires that people who want to partcipate in a state or local area forum live in that state or area and have some knowledge or familarity with the issues.
Unfortunately, that is something that doesn't seem to exist among Democrats, liberals, progressives, moderates et al.Regards.

Agree, but you must remember that some people have very little in the way of a life.
RTW is the first things businesses look at when moving to a new state. Nothing else matters to them, not tax breaks, not incentives, nothing.
This issue is indeed about freedom for all.
Regards.
