Media hog Sen. John McCain, ?-Ariz., again put his foot in it with his latest attack on President Bush. In a recent Wall Street Journal op-ed piece, McCain, who was trounced in last years Republican presidential primaries, unleashed his diatribe against administration policy in the conduct of the War on Terrorism.
McCain simply fed the growing carping from the Left about the lack of progress on the military front. Only with thousands of U.S. ground troops would we see any positive movement in Afghanistan, the quirky Arizonan opined.
Of course McCain wasnt content to leave his "advice on the pages of the Journal; no, he made the rounds of the all the top broadcast outlets to get what has come to be his regular fix of publicity.
No surprise; he does it all the time always at the expense of the president and Republicans, because thats the only way he knows hell get media coverage of his ill-conceived pontifications and has therefore become so predictable.
Needless to say, events this week in Afghanistan have decisively shown that the former Navy aviator who, by the way, crashed three fighter jets (two in non-combatant incidents) without a single kill doesnt possess any great military expertise at all.
Not only did McCain jump the gun, so to speak, he demonstrated a reckless impatience by refusing to allow sufficient time for the devastation being wrought by our air campaign to take effect.
Hardly the qualities we should expect from a solid commander-in-chief, which is why its comforting to know that he fell so far short in his attempt to "Elmer Gantry" his way into the Oval Office.
His failure has exposed only how small a man McCain is, as he continues to join left-wing Democrats on half-baked, Big Government legislative press-release generators in what is really a desperate craving for the white glare of the television lights.
Suffice it say that, once again, McCain was dead wrong.
One recent exception:
McCain's "We Must Win This War" recent WSJ op-ed piece, which was "right on target", IMHO.
It's well documented that McCain, who showed little talent as a Navy flight student, would have washed out on at least two different occasions had it not been for the fact his father and grandfather were both former Navy admirals. The fact that three generations of McCains had graduated from the Naval Academy helped as well. Tradition, and the old boy network is still alive and well in the U.S. Navy.

There is one sentence where Dan Frisa is wrong, "His failure has exposed only how small a man McCain is, as he continues to join left-wing Democrats on half-baked, Big Government legislative press-release generators in what is really a desperate craving for the white glare of the television lights."
McAinal has all ways been a left wing demonicRat hiding under the guise of conservative republican! What we have seen in this year since GW became president is the real truth about this phoney!
There may be another mistake re the number of our planes that McAinal took out by himself. A lot of Navy Air Dales claimed that he was the first Red Ace against America as he crashed two training planes besides the three combat planes. If that is true, that makes his total of downed American Planes, five. That would make him an Ace for the other side, therefore their claim that he was a Red Ace!
Open mouth, insert foot, McDips#!t.
McCain is like a nasty boil that just won't go away.
It's so "maverick" sounding.
They were all disloyal. I tried to run the Republicans properly by the book, but they fought me at every turn...Ah, but the strawberries! That's, that's where I had them. They laughed at me and made jokes, but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt, and with, with geometric logic, that, that a duplicate key to the Senate cloakroom icebox did exist. And I would have produced that key had they not pulled the Taliban out of action. I, I know now they were only trying to protect some fellow Democrat.
