AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 301) [Remember the Trade Center!!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers ^ | November 17, 2001 | All of Us

My fellow Americans, LET'S ROLL!!!
[President Bush quoting American Hero Todd Beamer]

Good Morning!! Do not let them die in vain!!

An anthrax letter was sent to Sen. Leahy.

Al Jezeera has accused the United States of bombing its office in Kabul.

Laura Bush will deliver the first-ever radio address by a First Lady today (97, eat your heart out - HA!). (I don't have a time - I checked the First Lady's page on the White House site, it isn't listed there either.)

And Helen Thomas has joined the ranks of those showing their true feelings about America saying the President "has gone too far" in curtailing our rights.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Good morning! I am looking forward to Laura Bush's morning talk. I think it should be around 10:00 AM. President Bush is serious about rights for women in Afghanistan. I still remember with what absolute contempt he told reporters "They slit the throats of women."

Now, what is NOW going to say about this? Ha!

If I understand correctly, the Lahey letter was sitting in a quaranteened mail bin, and was more than likely mailed around, if not at, the same time as the Dasshole and NBC Letters.....of course now tho, this will be seen by the Kool-AIDERS as further proof in the pudding that it is the VRWWhackos behind the Anthrax scares.

Mr. Chairman, I just cobbled this together:

The Holiday *Best* of Bill Clinton & his Friends!

And on a more personal note, my wife learned yesterday that the loss of her singing voice ( following August 15th surgery to fuse one level of vertebrae in her neck ) is due to swollen vocal cords and not nerve damage, polyps, or tumors. It should be treatable.

That is excellent news, backhoe. Somehow I missed this problem, but I am very glad for her that it is not more serious.

Now, what is NOW going to say about this?

Miss M, I'm sure they will come forth with some convoluted, wise-a$$ed, over-intellectualized blather which, to quote P.J. O'Rourke, is "baked wind and monkey doodle..."

Long ago, I supported the Muhajadin, and even then the way they treated their women was comtemptable- I just don't understand why this is- in my wife's immortal words, "You guys have to sleep sometime...."

Here is an interesting question to ponder. I cannot credit the freeper who started this train of thought, but it stuck with me:

In countries where women have no rights, is it because they are poor countries, OR are they poor countries because the women have no rights?

In countries where women have no rights, is it because they are poor countries, OR are they poor countries because the women have no rights?

Whew! That good a question requires a kick-start of my poor old brain! Generally speaking, more wealth gives people more options of what to do with their lives, while going the other way- more poverty- decreases their options.

Put another way, oppressing these women just increases each family's poverty- if they could go out and work, barter, whatever, each family would have more coming in, be it money or goods, or services. Everyone would benefit.

On a side note, we are at war with a truly Medieval culture- one that fears our freedoms, openess, and wealth. They know that given a free choice, most people would rather live in our type of society than theirs- they cannot compete, so they seek to destroy.

...they cannot compete, so they seek to destroy...

But the Muslims have an added twist: they are also supremacist. In the radical Muslim form, there is no such thing as co-existence, it's either we win or they win...

Sadly true.... I can remember a time when we had honorable opponents, like Hubert Humphrey or Pat Moynihan- you could disagree with their solutions, but still feel they were honorable people.

Morning, to all! MM...I wasn't here yesterday, so I don't know if you got the results back from Mr. Marple's surgery...just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you and yours.

Backhoe...glad to hear your wife's singing voice should be treatable!

OneidaM: I was just reading the paper this morning read about Sen. Leahy's "letter"..and I thought to myself, "Ya know? I wonder...when is the VRWC theory gonna start popping up?" Also read that Danny Glover thinks we should spare bin Laden's life. Gimme a break.

Spent most of the day yesterday trying to figure out exactly how someone with a gun could get through security at Hartsfield. It's not the easiest place to get around, believe me. Once you get through security, there are ALWAYS Atlanta Police officers sitting right by the escalators, which are quite steep and very long. Then, once you're off them, you either have a choice of riding the train, walking on the human conveyor belt or just plain walking to the next terminal. It is know as the "Transportation Mall". It really baffled me. Then, they said they had "apprehended him", but I found out they didn't until about 6:30pm. You should see Hartsfield on a normal day, nevermind a Friday the weekend of the last official NASCAR SEASON RACE. (Compare it to the SuperBowl weekend). Normally, Mr. DJ88 would have been flying in last night, as we usually go to this race, but we decided not to this year because we were going up for Thanksgiving instead. And, to top it all off with a cherry, the guy they arrested was from the same place my mother and father live....

Whew. The boys are out getting haircuts/breakfast, and I have to take Michael to a friend's house on the way to take Mark to his friend's birthday party at "Dinosaur World". :-) (Later of course).

DEEJ...the OJ Simpson-wanna-be airport sprinter didn't even have a gun...he was an out of control football fan, who was worried about missing his plane.

Oh, you gotta be kidding me!! They didn't PRINT THAT in the paper!! My sister called me yesterday and told me that they had shut down all the roads leading to the airport (you know how many there are????). God surely knew what He was doing when He had Brian come up with the idea that we shouldn't go to the RACE. I can only imagine the chaos in the metro Atlanta area yesterday....the traffic jams, the truckers trying to get home, ugh.

Oh, and btw, thank you for the extra POOPOO alert. ;-)
