I have a question which I hope someone here will answer. I was gone for the weekend (away from my computer), but read the lead article in the Sunday paper (the Orlando Sentinel). I believe the article originally came from the Washington Post about alleged conflict between the administration & the military, causing Taliban targets to repeatedly escape annihilation. I've been trying to find the article here. I tried backtracking, through 50 posts at a time, back through the next 50 posts, etc. I finally got through Mondays posts, only to find very few posts for Sunday, Nov. 18th. In other words, I can't find the article! I've read the article, but I really wanted to see what everyone here has to say about it. I did key word searches -- Taliban, military, red tape, Pentagon, and I CAN'T FIND IT! Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks,

Well, I knew someone would know, but can't believe I got my answer so fast. How did you know where it was?! But at least I see why my "searching" didn't work since none of the words I tried looking for were in the darn title. Thanks so much!

Try this:

Use the title, if you recall it, a few keywords from the text, the name of the poster, etc., and in the "domain" box put freerepublic.com

It doesn't get the most current stuff, and you may have to use several combinations of keywords, but you'll be surprised by what you find.

Thanks, Backhoe. That will come in handy in future.

Nitro, I see you posted on the thread, so that's how you knew where it was. I must say I'm disappointed, though. I thought the article would engender more debate than it did. And I still can't figure out why, when I kept going back in time until I got to the Sunday posts, I still couldn't find the article.

I read and posted on the article in question, so I recalled that is was Air Force officers that were cheesed off. I searched on Air Force and there she was!

As for the speed, I just happened along at the right time!

The article was posted twice, but the other thread got even fewer responses! If you consider the time and the overload of war news, it is no surprise many threads go un-noticed!

Your browser has a "history" button which contains all the web pages you've visited recently. Click it and scan the list... it'll probably be there.
