WHO POSTED THE PHOTO OF THE WTC BABY?
Self ^ | Sometime in November 01 | Self

Posted on 11/27/2001 4:22:07 PM PST by lancer

About three weeks ago, someone placed a photo on one of the threads that showed one of the Towers burning, with many people at the windows. One of the people, a woman, was holding her baby out of the window so it could breathe.

The poster made the comment that if anyone felt their resolve slipping, just take a look at that photo.

My resolve will never slip, but I would like to capture that photo to share with my friends.

I should have copied the photo at the time, but I didn't.

Can anyone help identify the thread that contains this photo?

Many thanks for your help.

Thanks to you both. I meant to bookmark this myself.

Diogenesis, do you know anything about the origin of the pic? Like who took it, was it a long range lens, where was it published?

I just did a little gamma correction on photo 1, to get rid of some black smoke, and wow what damage. Take a look.

I wish everyone who finds themselves slipping back into their "PC" lifestyle and sense of complacency would be forced to study these and other similar images.

Even today, my eyes tear up looking at these pictures. I have a "slide show" saved to my computer that shows people falling to their deaths. I viewed it once...the first time I received it by e-mail (only days after the attack)....and have not yet been able to view it again.

Let's continue to pray for the victims and their survivors. We shall never forget!

Looking at the damage to the outter supports I think it was very lucky that the WTC did cave sooner.

Does anyone have the mother and child's name?

I'd seen that picture before but never noticed the baby.

My God, I can't even begin to imagine what thoughts must have been running through that mother's mind during her last moments together with her baby. Was she perhaps waiting for a fleet of helicopters to begin circling the tower in a rescue attempt? Did she jump to escape the flames with the baby in her arms? Did she bring her purse with her so she could be identified? Were they ever found and ID'd or are they still among the thousands missing? Did the baby's father get a chance to lay them to rest, or was the memorial service held in their absence? We'll probably never know the answers.

I hope there was a "mother and child reunion" in heaven for both of them, and that they found eternal peace.

It's good that pictures like this stay in active circulation. People had their heads buried in the sand for so long before these attacks occurred; it's easy for society to slip into denial as time goes by and move along to the next headline. We must NEVER forget!!!

Is there a way for you to enlarge the damaged section? Especially on the lower left hand side of the damage. It looks as if there are people there.

As criticisms of the Northern Alliance begin to simmer up, we only need look at these pictures to understand that these brave men are, at the moment, the right-hand of justice and righteousness.

We should pray that they remain on that side.

Start with the enlarged photo, on the left count the 'beams'. The woman is holding a baby out between 6 and 7 right above the smoke. See them?

My impression remains that the US press deliberately downplayed the naked horror of these peoples' senseless deaths.

I also suspect that if an "Aryan Nation" type outfit had been found responsible, we'd have a far far more gruesome collection of publicly displayed images of 9/11.

The baying and moaning about "civil liberties" for enemy aliens is childish, stupid and dangerous.

I want everyone opposed to a rigorous crackdown on the obvious likely accomplices, stooges, supporters, fellow travelers and sleepers to sign a register with their home addresses, so they can be *sure* of reprisals should more maniacal thugs slip through our fingers.

Had the towers not fallen, I don't believe they would ever have been occupied again. There was just too much structural damage.

I cannot even imagine how anyone could have repaired them.

I tried to watch the recent History Channel series on the WTC - thinking I was ready. Within 15 minutes I was blubbering all over again. I'm not ready...and may never be.

Thank you for the graphic reminder. I'm sick of everyone talking about the ---- (you fill in the number) innocent people killed on September 11th.

Flippant recitation of "numbers" has lost it's impact, but the sight of a parent trying desperately to save an innocent baby produces adrenalin and resolve everytime it is seen.

I believe that every newscast, everyday should conclude with a family member of a victim of this terrorist, cowardly act telling the world about their lost loved one. We all have to take this abomination personally.

I do....every day. I also pray to have more patience for the "America-Haters" and the PC police who are once again crawling out of the woodwork. Some days I really feel that I am going to "lose it!"
