WASHINGTON (AP) -- A federal judge dealt a setback on Friday to a lawsuit filed by Linda Tripp, dismissing allegations against former Pentagon spokesman Ken Bacon and an aide.
As government employees, Bacon and Clifford Bernath are entitled to qualified immunity and are being dropped as defendants in the suit, U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan ruled.

This is exactly why i don't trust the government with my private life. What's the point in them technecly not being able to violate it but when they do the penalty has no teeth.

Heck, they could have run over her with a steam roller and if the driver was a fellow govt employee, he/she would not be liable. Independence of judges in this country is an oxymoron.

So if you happen to be a Government official you are exempt from the laws that apply to us mere peons/citizens; at least if you are a part of the Clinton intimidation and smear machine.

"If anything is clear from the qualified immunity doctrine, it is that the question of whether an official deserves qualified immunity is not the same inquiry as whether the official has violated the law," wrote the judge. So they broke the law but can't be held accountable? What does that mean??

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan I remember that Judge's name from another ruling I didn't like. I suppose it was from the Whitewater era, but I'm not sure.

So they broke the law but can't be held accountable? What does that mean? That justice is not equitable. That politicians put their reinstatement in office before the law. That the voters have no idea what they have brought upon themselves.

As government employees, Bacon and Clifford Bernath are entitled to qualified immunity and are being dropped as defendants in the suit, U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan ruled. Yeah, right.

Federal judges are appointed for life.

I guess this means that certain government employees with the correct credentials or rank are free to expose the FBI background checks on fellow employees to REPORTERS anytime they want to.....that qualified immunity thingie is just soooooooooo handy to have around the Pentagon.

So the government now has blanket immunity. Very interesting. And these guys consider themselves to be legitimate because?????

Sullivan is a clintonista. When is the AG/DOJ going to clean house? We'll be dealing with the evil slugs they appointed for decades. No way to get rid of federal judges except impeachment and virtually none of our politicians have the backbone to undertake that.
It's a sickening one, but Clinton did leave a legacy I'm afraid.

Sullivan is a clintonista. When is the AG/DOJ going to clean house? When Bubba Bush orders him to clean house. I think this is scheduled to happen on the 12th of Never. Bubba Bush wouldn't want to make the Dims mad at him. Wouldn't be prudent.
