Christian Publisher Seconds Graham's Islam Comments
(AgapePress) - It turns out Franklin Graham is not the only high-profile evangelical who is ready to speak out against Islam.
Graham's recent comments calling Islam "an evil and wicked religion" drew headlines in the national media because of the Graham family's long-time association with the Bush family. It put the younger Graham at odds with President Bush, who has been referring to Islam's teachings as "good" and "peaceful."
Now comes statements from Marvin Olasky, editor and chief of World magazine and the man credited with Bush's campaign slogan of "compassionate conservatism."
In the latest edition of the magazine, Olasky praises Graham for being bold and courageous. And Olasky himself says, "Anyone who believes in Christ should be willing to say that Islam is wrong in its inception of who God is."
And he says "Islam becomes theologically evil when its leaders do not give those they control the liberty to explore for themselves the truth about God."
State Dept's Turn First it was the White House that opened its doors to a Ramadan celebration. Now the State Department has hosted a dinner featuring prayers to Islam's Allah. Secretary of State Colin Powell told the invited guests last night that he is committed to help protect Muslim-Americans from discrimination and racial profiling. According to an Associated Press report, he then urged them to go out and teach other Americans about Islam.
"You are doing that -- reaching out to Christians and Jews and letting everybody know we are all creatures and children of a benevolent god and we must come to understand that to love one another is being faithful to our god."
The White House was criticized last week by both Jewish and U.S. conservatives for hosting a special observance of Ramadan, a month-long period of fasting in the Islam religion.

DING, DING, DING - YOU WIN DR. O. - BINGO!
However, I think it is truly a valid statement that the terrorists have won if our government and our country begin to lean towards Islam, lending it credibility with our citizens, especially our younger citizens. The Sept 11 attack should push us away from Islam, not towards it.

Sure. Spread the word. A peaceful and good religion, worshiping the same God as the rest of us. Sure. Not!
Powell is the perennial, ubiquitous useful idiot. He should stick to what he does best; soaking up undeserved accolades from the leftist press, Liberals and the disgusting RINOs (also Liberals).
