..... why it is the muslims hate us so.

Muslims hate non-muslims because Islam flourishes mostly among the poor and the ignorant who in turn are taught to feel victimized and to hate those victimizing them.

This permits the so called religious clerics (I.E. the Mullahs) to achieve political power as Islam is much more a political system than a religion.

Hate and victimhood are essential ingredients of this abominable system!!!

Great article by Sowell. They hate us because they envy our success. To make them stop hating us we need to become as impoverished, unproductive, weak, and desperate as they are.

Right on target.

Sowell said,
"If we really want to understand, then we can start by understanding that wealth is created, not simply transferred -- and that some know how to create more than others. But we also need to understand the poisonous role of envy and resentment, at home and abroad"
This is the ultimate cornerstone of the the Democratic party, envy resentment and wealth transfer (robbery) if this were to go away no democrats would ever be elected again; therefore, it will never go away.

Some of the intelligentsia go beyond these double standards to claim that the success of the more prosperous is a result of their having somehow robbed or exploited the "dispossessed." Isolated examples of virtually anything can be found, including robbery and exploitation. But to argue that this explains vast disparities in income and wealth, whether among nations or within nations, requires a determination to defy both facts and logic.

Most prosperous countries have most of their economic transactions with other prosperous countries. Four-fifths of American investments in foreign countries are in high-income countries in Europe and Asia, and no more than one percent in poverty-stricken countries, such as those in sub-Saharan Africa.

If we really want to understand, then we can start by understanding that wealth is created, not simply transferred -- and that some know how to create more than others. But we also need to understand the poisonous role of envy and resentment, at home and abroad.

Rush often points out how woefully inadequate economics education in U.S. schools. Democrats exploit that inadequacy by perpetuating the myth that if someone gets wealthy, it's at the expense of someone else becoming poor. That's just not so, but way too many people believe it.

3. "He abused me, mistreated me, defeated me, robbed me."
Harboring such thoughts keeps hatred alive.

4. "He abused me, mistreated me, defeated me, robbed me."
Releasing such thoughts banishes hatred for all time.

-- Selected verses from the Dhammapada (translated by Ven. Ananda Maitreya)

Envy greed and resentment - the driving engine of the Democratic party. I've lost count of the number of times I've heard politicians use the phrase "fair share" as if wealth somehow fell from the sky, and all that's needed is some wise politicians to divide it.

Wealth is the direct result of work. If you don't work as hard you get less. If you do something that doesn't require skill you get less. Democrats feel that the world owes them a living, so work and skill shouldn't enter into it.

They hate us because they envy our success

Islamic nations may not view a nation with legal abortions, a drug trade that could only exist with the consent of the government, a pornographic industry that generates more revenue than the National Football League, and a corrupted government as a success to be envied. The word Islam means “submission” and a Muslim is a person who has submitted his life to the will of God. Is it possible that God considers Western culture a success?

In order for one to accept that they hate us because they envy our success, one must also accept that the envy is of such a magnitude that some are willing to give up their lives. Indeed, if that were the reason, it certainly would represent a respectable amount of envy.

Is it worthwhile to consider other possibilities? If we are serious about taking steps to diminish the threat of terrorism then all possible answers are worth consideration.

I would assert that the hatred is a result of the cultural influence the West exerts on Islamic nations for economic reasons and not envy. I would assert that when a bomb kills a young boys family a potential terrorist is created. I say this with the assumption that this young boy is not informed of the political and economic realities that one-day resulted in that bomb being delivered to his family. I say this with the assumption that this young boy is not so sophisticated as to understand “acceptable collateral damage”.

As a nation the USA will attach whatever label is required, rationalize whatever actions it takes, and change whatever laws need be changed to achieve its agenda.

I favor all of this if the objective is to diminish the threat of terrorism. To put it more succinctly I suggest that whatever we do and for whatever reason we do it that it is done in such a way as to create as few additional terrorists as possible.

Who gives a flying fungus why they hate us? Over the past few decades we have wasted an enormous amount of energy trying to figure out why people do what they do. We did it to the point that we ignored the victims and created social blackholes which sucked up everybody's time and energies. Let social scientists worry about why. For now, get these people out of the way. Jail them, kill them, incarcerate them, do whatever it takes to remove them from harming others. And PLEASE stop posting articles about "why these people hate us!"
