A White House Christmas - Barbara Walters interview with the President & First Lady

On the whole, an excellent interview. I give Barbara Walters credit for drawing the President and the First Lady out and giving them a chance to show themselves to the American people, while pretty much stying in the background herself. This should go over very well. A few bits of minor foolishness, like being surprised that the war in Afghanistan is taking "longer than we thought." Longer than who thought? The pundits all thought it would take years and end badly.
But on the whole, this could hardly have gone better. And I assume it will have all the better effect with the Christmas decorations and the visual appearance of this attractive couple.

Thanks so much for taking the time to place this article here. The entire interview is well worth reading and sounds so much like the President and First Lady we have grown to love and trust. With all that has happened to our country since 9/11, we are so fortunate to have this man leading us through these difficult times. We lost our son-in-law to pancreatic cancer on Holy THursday. He was buried the day before Easter. He was such an admirer of President G.H. Bush and Ronald Reagan. I remember him going down to the the GWB campaign headquarters last October, putting signs together and doing all that he could to help get this man elected. He said that nothing could put him at ease more than to know that President Bush would be leading our country. He left three little boys and had the same deep seeded faith that our President has. Reading this interview of the President and First Lady with Barbara Walters, made me think of him more. We will have an empty chair at our family table, but our hearts are full of all of the good memories.

What a beautiful post. Please accept my sympathy for the loss of your son in law. At least he left you knowing the country was in good hands, that must have helped him leave his children behind. God Bless you and your family.

I read the entire thing, and I am really impressed. Particularly like the things President Bush says about Arafat, he makes no bones about how he must step up to the plate now!
Looking forward to watching this, and now I know what they are going to say! LOL
Always love to hear about the dogs. Barney is eating the snow off the Christmas tree! So typical of puppies!
