[history]
December 5, 2001 -- The terrified teen victim of a sadistic ex-teacher dubbed New York's own "Hannibal Lecter" begged for mercy before being castrated, but his attacker coolly retorted, "I can't stop now - don't you see that?"
The chilling exchange was one of several horrifying details that surfaced yesterday for the first time as prosecutors went to court to fight cannibal killer Albert Fentress' possible release from a Long Island psychiatric hospital.

This is a pointless situation: if ever there was a poster-boy for the death penalty, this sicko meets the description. I don't care if he's "reformed" or "repented" or any of the buzz words--his place is still outside society, in jail.

I think I am going to be ill. By the way, if he doesn't deserve the chair for this, then I don't know what does.
To: aculeus
This monster sounds like he's straight out of a Freddy Kreuger movie. Hope he rots in hell.

Even if you buy into the traditional idea that the mentally ill are not responsible for their crimes, it makes no difference.
We do not have a treatment for what is wrong with this man. He will never be well, and no one can make him so.
If they won't kill him, they must cage him for as long as he lives. Period.

I think that once he is curred of his mental dis-order, than he is able to be executed. What's wrong with THAT logic? Oh, I remember, our lovely politically correct system wants to rehabilitate such wacko's and return them to a neighborhood near you.

This SOB should have been hanged years ago.

If I were the boy's dad, I would ask to have him released.
And then I would kill him.

But Fentress' lawyer pointed out that in 1999, another jury disagreed with the state, saying he was ready to leave Pilgrim Psychiatric Center and re-enter society. The case has ended up in civil court because an appellate court later ruled against that verdict and ordered a new hearing.
Lawyer speak . . . this is exactly what I have a problem with in our so-called criminal justice system. Why wasn't this monster convicted and executed over 10 years ago?

I suppose those jurors would put out the welcome mat for him in their neighborhood? This evil man should rot in prison for the rest of what is hopefully a shortened life. Could someone send some fliers around to his fellow inmates? Gotta be someone in there who wouldn't take kindly to this sort of thing.

He is "a man horrified by his own actions" who has resolved never to hurt anyone again, Defense lawyer Kim Darrow said. What a whore. Some people will do anything for money or publicity.

"I can't stop now - don't you see that?" Insight into bureaucratic stubborness: now that he knows what I do, there is no releasing him, so there is no stoping the torture either.
This guy is a typical repentless criminal, he knew what he was doing and he is manipulating the system. I can't believe they put him in a mental institution.
To: Callahan
Better yet, slice off HIS penis, castrate him and then let him bleed to death.

OMG, if someone does something like this - I don't care if they are retarded, insane, or whatever, they should be killed. They are talking about releasing someone who did this?
To: aculeus
If I were that boy's father, I'd invest in a hunting rifle and a scope. Give him about six months after he's been released and then do what the state should have done 20 years ago.

He is "a man horrified by his own actions" who has resolved never to hurt anyone again Good, then he'll understand why he should never go free.
To: aculeus
The problem with these kinds of people is that the statistics overwhelmingly support that these pyschopaths NEVER rehabilitate. You cannot let him out.
I do not support the death penalty, so I say leave him locked up for life.
To: aculeus
I remember hearing about this bastard even though I was only 3 when it happened. For some reason, this guy and Richard Speck (who committed his crimes ten years before I was born) are the only two murderers to TRULY give me the creeps when I learned of their crimes.
