I know this isn't the purpose of Free Republic, and I've never used it for this purpose in the past. But I had to post a thank you note.
Apparently someone posted our launch announcement here last week. RightTurns.com as a result received a TON of traffic that came off a link posted in this miscellaneous section.
We of course are big fans of Free Republic and I myself have posted many articles and joined many discussions in the past. So I am especially gratified that we got such a good response.
If I may, I'd like to encourage people who have visited (or hopefully will visit) RightTurns.com to write us letters to the editor and Op Ed pieces.
I guess this reads like a commercial. Sorry about that.

I guess this reads like a commercial. Sorry about that. Then why do it? This is nothing but commercial spam.

I have this hard and fast rule. Any site that features the horrid polemics and drivel of A. Huffington is not a site I wish to venture to.
My apologies....

She makes John McCain look sane.

No. Spam is spam.

Free Republic is suppossed to help advance the conservative agenda. Free Republic doesn't allow advertising. This gentleperson here is thanking someone for posting earlier and inviting others to come visit his conservative website. His conservative website would like to advance the conservative agenda as well. It fits the purpose of this site nicely.

She didn't even know her hubby was a homo. So why would I want to listen to here obervations.

Yikes!!! Evidently, there's been a lot of pissing in Corn Flakes today...you've taken more abuse than the posters of the 47 daily Britney Spears threads...
I bookmarked the site and look forward to visiting...ignore the flames and good luck!!

We of course are big fans of Free Republic and I myself have posted many articles and joined many discussions in the past. Congrats. Not a bad lookin' site. But I would have to agree with the above comment re: Arianna - what gives?
And, I couldn't find a graphic link to FreeRepublic. That'd be bad...
To: francisandbeans
I agree...This is a "babe in the woods" sight...but heading in the
right direction...I will visit it in the coming days, see/read "what's going on"...and reserve any judgement for the time being...

It is gratifying to this Democrat that the Republicans still have hopes for reinventing the sport of hurling.

"She didn't even know her hubby was a homo." A typical Hollywood face saving lie. Of course she knew. She probably drove him to it.

I have this hard and fast rule. Any site that features the horrid polemics and drivel of A. Huffington is not a site I wish to venture to. What he said and then some.
If you've got her up you are not a conservative site, but worse, your indicating you are not going to be printing many good articles if your judgement is so bad.
Why did you put up an article by her?
Who's doing this site?
To: Ward Smythe
We have gotten a lot of comments about Arianna as a person, but nothing about her column. When we read the column, the majority of us had to agree with it. If anyone wants to write a letter expressing a different point of view, we'll certainly consider it for publication.
You may be glad to know that the guest column that appears in the next issue on 12/15 was cowritten by Bill Bennett and Jack Kemp.
Now back to my cornflakes...
To: AppyPappy
I didn't think that was possible.
But I'd have to watch Huffie a little more to discern the difference.
Nahhhhh!! I'll take your word for it.
