New Thread
Car update. My car is ready.... sort of. I am waiting for my attorney to pick me up to go get my car. The shop said the new alternator works, but the alarm is still messed up and they won't touch it, and that now they can't get the windows to go up and down. Isn't that nice? They said they will fix the windows next week, which is why I am bringing my attorney. I want it in WRITING!!! I like my windows going up and down. It's important to me.

Maybe lodwick's right, you should get one of those "IT" scooter thingies or, at least, make the acquaintance of the inventor.

Who is working on your car, the three stooges? What a mess!
It sounds like they've messed something up in your electrical system.
I hope the locks on your door are functional.

Being as you live in Michigan where you get tons and tons of snow, I hope your windows are in the "up" position when you pick the car up!!

My thoughts exactly since I learned of the multiple alternators - these dufuses have NOT found the original problem yet, and have somehow managed to screw up even more of the electrical system.
HLL, please be prepared for your car to fail at exactly the worst possible time - keep your cell phone fully charged and with you. Are there any cute TaxiGuys in GP?

I know, it's just a disaster. I called the alarm company and they told me what I can do to get the alarm reset. Let's hope it works.
My electrical system is fairly new, but they are saying that I have wires all over the place. DON'T ALL CARS!!! Sheesh. Don't worry, I always have my cell with me, always fully charged, but I don't think I have ever in my life seen a taxi in GP.
*** On another airhead move, I think I packed one of my box cutters accidently in one of our CARE Packages. I can't find my yellow box cutter anywhere, and I think it's in the bottom of one of the male soldier's boxes. I hope they don't get offended. I already packed and repacked 2 boxes and decided that they can have the box cutter, I have about 10 of them.

I LOVE cookie exchange parties, I have done this I think 7 or 8 times. It is always a special party.
It is a great way to gather friends together and laugh and have a wonderful time.
One year we made it for couples and this one bachelor stuntman, so cute, he came alone and broght dog biscuits. Actual dog biscuits he had made, he had little red ribbons on each one and put them on a festive plate. It was soooo adorable how he really got into it , but for fun brought cookies for us to give our dogs. LOL So cute.

Look at how big those boxes are!! I could use one of those.
No one has picked me up to go to the repair place yet, so our boxes will have to wait until Monday. I have to go out and get more stuff to stuff into the stockings. Walmart has a great price on kits of hot sauces and things like that. I know the soldiers are begging for spices and sauces, and I can get 5 different sauces for $10. That's a really good deal.

HELP!!!!!! I am soo mad at myself. I have been busy making cookies to take to the neighbors and I had a pan of HOT chocolate-peanut butter mixture the pan slipped from my hands and into the sink. The worst part is that the mixture was perfect and now I have to start all over. OH BROTHER!!!! Whew! I feel better, sorry for venting, but I needed that!

This is going to be such a fun thread. I just received the latest edition of Cook's Illustrated and they did a taste test of several brands of molasses for cookies. Grandma's mild and Brer Rabbit mild were both recommended. B. Rabbit dark got credit for being strong without a trace of bitterness while Plantation blackstrap was rated 'user discretion advised (lol).

Ladies - pull yourselves together - I know that everyone is still affected by 9.11 and all that has come after, but we can do better than this.
I've starting making lists, with much more detail than ever before - and Mrs. lodwick knows that if she wants anything to get done, best have it in writing for me. ;-)
The cooking gods smiled on my 4lbs of shrimp effort, so it's time to spruce up (as litle as that is possible) and prep myself for our first Christmas party. Wishing everyone complete success with what ever is on y'all's lists. (and especially HLL, good luck.)

My sympathies on your peanut butter mishap. I just finished a batch of chocolate covered oatmeal bars and am gearing up to roll out the gingerbread soldiers. I just discovered the cutter I thought was for gingerbread men really is a bear. Oh well, I'll just cut off the little ears and no one will know.
