Hillary Refuses to Rule Out Presidential Run

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton refused on Sunday to rule out a run for the White House, telling NBC's "Meet the Press" only that she has no "intention" right now of ever seeking the presidency.

Clinton bobbed and weaved as "Meet the Press" moderator Tim Russert repeatedly pressed her to close loopholes in previous denials where she claimed to harbor no ambitions beyond the Senate.

But the former first lady would not make a Shermanesque statement ruling out, once and for all, a run for president.

The exchange went like this:

RUSSERT: Do you ever want to be president?

CLINTON: No. You know, I...

RUSSERT: Ever?

CLINTON: No, I really.

RUSSERT: Never? You'll never run?

CLINTON: You know, Tim, I have no intention of running for president.

RUSSERT: Oh, but that's a--no intention. Either "I will never run" or "I might run."

CLINTON: You know, your good friend and mine, James Carville, told me, "Tim will ask you this 900 different ways," but the answer is the same. You know, I do not intend to do that. But what I do intend to do is, you know, to be the best senator I can be, which is what I'm trying to do to the best of my ability every single day. (End of Excerpt)

Five years before she launched her Senate bid, then-first lady Hillary Clinton was asked by New York gossip columnist Liz Smith if she would ever seek elective office.

"She gave a very definite 'NO!,'" Smith reported.

I can see her PR campaign right now, with screaming skull Carville leading the goose stepping march: "Elect Hillary! What's one more lie?"

If she runs, it will be a record-breaker. Least number of precincts ever won by a major-party presidential candidate.

Did anyone notice on meet the press, how Hill tried to align herself with the Republicans? She tried to make it look like her & Ashcroft & W. were best buddies.

What a joke!

A teacher (in Jr. High School, I think) once scolded me for using "you know" so much in my conversation. Said it lacked imagination and indicated I was having a hard time thinking of something substantial to say.

But you know, far be it from me to criticize the "world's smartest woman". You know, if she does it, it must be okay.

You know?

I've been keeping an eye on how she's been answering this question. Instead of answering, "NO," she has been resorting to typical ClintonSpeak. For example, she said in an AP interview on 8/29/01: "I don't even want to talk about this. It's not anything that's going to happen." Of course, when she says "it's not going to happen"...she's only referring to not talking about it! I've yet to see her outright deny any plans to run.

This little game her cohorts in the media play is designed for one thing only.....that is to get us used to the idea of Hitlery for President. Some might scoff at the very idea but then we scoffed when the homosexual lobby began saying that men should be allowed to marry men. The more the idea is put forth the less shocking it becomes, to some!

I've been suspecting the same thing. After all, it seems like every time she is on television, or she is doing an interview, somebody asks her whether or not she plans to run in 2004. I can't help but question their motives!

Typical.

Last time I looked, 90% of the American people were quite happy with the leadership of George W. Bush and his guidance during an extraordinarily tragic time in this country's history.

So, naturally, everyone in the alleged news media is foaming at the mouth to ask the most pressing question facing our nation:

Will this cretinous, lying, traitorous, mealy-mouthed slug run for president and save us from ourselves?

If these people weren't so pathetic, they'd be hilarious.

In his last gubernatorial run in Arkansas, Bill Clinton gave his "solemn" vow that he wouldn't run for President. He lied. No surprise here when Hillary runs in 2004. She ain't gonna wait for 2008. She wants back into the White House as soon as possible.

I'm not sure why anyone wastes their time and breath interviewing someone who is so consistently untruthful.

However it does provide a little entertainemnt trying to guess what she is going to make up next.

Least number of precincts ever won by a major-party presidential candidate.

Yeah, but watch out for those precincts. The dems will launch an all-out get-out-the-dead-people-and-unregistered=voters effort and then whine that she won the "popular" vote.

I'm still reeling from her win in NY. Zogby, who was right on the money in his other polls showed her only a couple of percentage points ahead of Lazio the day before the election. Then she won by 12%. Have the NYers figured it out yet?

When it comes to the media we can always assume it's antithetical to the good of the people.

I suspect she will say that "the people" urged her to run. The press is already putting forth the example....
