Oingo Boingo
Capitalism

There's nothing wrong with Capitalism
There's nothing wrong with free enterprise
Don't try to make me feel guilty
I'm so tired of hearing you cry

There's nothing wrong with making some profit
If you ask me I'll say it's just fine
There's nothing wrong with wanting to live nice
I'm so tired of hearing you whine
About the revolution
Bringin' down the rich
When was the last time you dug a ditch, baby!

If it ain't one thing
Then it's the other
Any cause that crosses your path
Your heart bleeds for anyone's brother
I've got to tell you you're a pain in the ass

You criticize with plenty of vigor
You rationalize everything that you do
With catchy phrases and heavy quotations
And everybody is crazy but you

You're just a middle class socialist brat
From a suburban family and you never really had to work
And you tell me that we've got to get back
To the struggling masses (whoever they are)
You talk, talk, talk about suffering and pain
Your mouth is bigger than your entire brain
What the hell do you know about suffering and pain...

(Repeat first verse)

(Repeat chorus)

There's nothing wrong with Capitalism
There's nothing wrong with Capitalism
There's nothing wrong with Capitalism
There's nothing wrong with Capitalism

That should end it, because I think there's only been one conservative-oriented rock song ever.

I grew up with a generation of non-stop Liberal propaganda in my music, so I have nothing to contribute to this thread.

Dreams

Van Halen

World turns black and white
Pictures in an empty room
Your love starts fallin down
Better change your tune
Reach for the golden ring
Reach for the sky
Baby just spread your wings

We'll get higher and higher straight up we'll climb
We'll get higher and higher leave it all behind

Run, run, run, away
Like a train runnin off the track
The truth gets left behind
And falls between the cracks
Standing on broken dreams
But never losing sight
Spread your wings

We'll get higher and higher straight up we'll climb
We'll get higher and higher leave it all behind

So baby dry your eyes, save all the tears you've cried
Ohh that's what dreams are made of
Oh baby we belong in a world that must be strong
Ohh that's what dreams are made of

We'll get higher and higher straight up we'll climb
We'll get higher and higher leave it all behind
Higher and higher who knows what we'll find

And in the end on dreams we will depend
Cause thats what love is made of

"Don't Tread On Me" --Metallica

Liberty or death, what we so proudly hail
Once you provoke her, rattling of her tail
Never begins it, never, but once engaged...
Never surrenders, showing the fangs of rage

Don't tread on me

So be it Threaten no more
To secure peace is to prepare for war
So be it Settle the score
Touch me again for the words that you'll hear Evermore...

Don't tread on me

Love it or live it, she with the deadly bite
Quick is the blue tongue, forked as lighting strike
Shining with brightness, always on surveillance
The eyes, they never close, emblem of vigilance

Don't tread on me

So be it Threaten no more
To secure peace is to prepare for war
So be it Settle the score
Touch me again for the words that you'll hear Evermore...

Don't tread on me

So be it
Threaten no more To secure peace is to prepare for war
Liberty or death, what we so proudly hail
Once you provoke her, rattling on her tail
So be it Threaten no more
To secure peace is to prepare for war
So be it Settle the score
Touch me again for the words that you'll hear Evermore...

Don't tread on me

How about Damn Yankees by the Damn Yankees.I don't recall the entire song but one part really sticks out."The madmans ready to rock, the kin-folks ready to roll, a greasey dictator down south of us lost all control. He didn't have time to see me, he didn't have time to thank me. I shot the commie dead with my hot shotgun and said smile when you say Damn Yankees."

Let's Roll

by Neil Young

I know I said I love you,
I know you know it's true,
I got to put the phone down,
And do what we gotta do.

One's standing in the aisle way,
Two more at the door,
We got to get inside there,
Before they kill some more.

Time is runnin' out, let's roll.
Time is runnin' out, let's roll.

No time for indecision,
We got to make a move,
I hope that we're forgiven,
For what we gotta do.

How this all got started,
I'll never understand,
I hope someone can fly this thing,
Get us back to land.

Time is runnin' out, let's roll.
Time is runnin' out, let's roll.

No one has the answers,
But one thing is true,
You got to turn on evil,
When it's comin' after you.

You got to face it down,
And when it tries to hide,
You got to go in after it,
And never be denied.

Time is runnin' out, let's roll.

Let's roll for freedom,
Let's roll for love,
Goin' after Satan,
On the wings of a dove.

Let's roll for justice,
Let's roll for truth,
Let's not let our children,
Grow up fearful in their youth.

Time is runnin' out, let's roll.
Time is runnin' out, let's roll.
Time is runnin' out, let's roll.

Listen to it here. It is not on any CD, it is a new release.

IMO, there's no such thing as a "conservative -oriented rock song". That term is an oxymoron of a high degree. People don't listen to rock for the words, generally speaking, they listen to absorb the antipathetic jungle beat.

"American Pie" qualifies in several respects.
1. Nostalgic longing for good times of the past.
2. References to God and Christianity.
3. The bonding and love between men and women.
4. A sense of sadness and regret at the onset of cultural decline and the passing of innocence.
5. Mourning and sadness for the dead.
6. References to the struggle between good and evil.
7. Affirmation of American culture.

"Born in the USA"

And I don't care how Springsteen tries to spin it. To the average Joe this song is very patriotic.

Didn't Ted Nugent and George Carlin co-write a song called "I'm a Bad American"?

"What is the best conservative-oriented rock song?"

Oh, there are bunches. "Terrible Ted" Nugent.........the man.......has many that fit this description; some already mentioned. I like some of the less-obvious ones: "Ya Got Another Thing Comin'" by Judas Priest (plus......it rocks), "Get Over It" by the Eagles...............too many others. I'll sit back and read. :)
