I love this new conservative commentary site, www.rightturns.com. I wanted to share the contents from their second issue.

The Chicken Little Caucus is clucking again and that can only mean one thing: another election cycle is beginning.

It's a really good site I think. I think the insite is fresh. I particularly like Bruzzone and Sidline.

Charles Slepian's column was kinda scary. It would probably serve us all well to keep an eye on the Dept of Transportation. I wonder if he thinks TWA 800 crashed or was brought down by a missile?
Bill Whalen's column is good too... and it looks like the GWB is beginning to push his Faith-Based Initiative more. I've heard him speak on it twice in the last week!

Good Site. Yea, whether in the rocky hills of cold Afhganistan or here, tribal warfare can lead to the worst atrocities...Here it's not violent, at this point in history. But's been: Anybody remember OUR civil war, per casualty, one of the worse in World History.

Thanks for the post. Good site. Bookmarked it.

King CONg, are you saying TWA was shot down in a "tribal war" or something along those lines?

NO, not sure how you got TWA out of that. Just saying that civil wars are bloody, like our Civil War. And now in this country, we're having a battle between those who detest the bin Laden gang, and those who are sympathetic. That's a mild form of conflict, just not with guns. Mainly battling it out in the media, for the minds and hearts of Americans..so far we're winning that.

You should read the above-referenced column by Arthur Bruzzone then. It lays out something akin to what you are saying. Although he states it more clearly.

The "Political Wit of Jimmy Carter"???! That was worth reading the column by Bill Whalen. They should have that in their dumb politics section. I wonder what's in that book?

I'm glad this site is getting a good reception. As the conservative message plays to a broadening audiences, its good to get more quality conservative sites.
To: King CONg
What has that got to do with RightTurns?
I find it interesting that they didn't mention Racicot, since they appear to be strictly a Republican site. But still I'm glad someone finally brought up the rhetoric game. I haven't seen it written or even heard anyone talk about it... maybe Rush but I can't listen to him as I'm working. But it's a maddening thing.
To: thomas_1963
Nah... there's more the GOP than the RNC (thankfully). I don't mind that nothing was written on Racicot.
To: GOP_n_PDX
Exactly... the GOP should be about ideas, not people!

Steven Hayworth was in Portland talking about his new book, "The Age of Reagan" (which I am reading now and is absolutely fascinating). He said that Reagan was more about conservative ideas than a 'cult of personality' -- Reagan happened to have the good fortune of both. I asked him who he thought might be the "next" Reagan, and he lamented that Reagan was unfortunately one of a kind.
