The law expired April 30, before an estimated 200,000 people took advantage of it. Gee, I wonder how many of those people voted in the last election?

All of them. It's why Gore had any numerical advantage at all.

"I don't understand the logic of handing visas to foreigners while giving pink slips to American workers," he said. Couldn't have said it better myself. I'd institute a moratorium on immigration for at least 10 years. Otherwise this country will be as crowded as downtown Hong Kong!
Though, it's only a matter of time anyhow. I'm just trying to stave off the prospect as long as possible.

"The president proclaimed in May that he supported the extension and I expected him to live up to his commitment, to fight for this issue the way he has fought for tax cuts and other proclaimed priorities," said Rep. Silvestre Reyes, D-Texas, Wednesday. "The Hispanic community will remember this broken promise." Does Reyes represent Mexicans or Americans? It is time for him to decide. On on path lies a betrayal of the oath he took when he was sworn in under our sacred Capitol dome.
Choose now, Reyes, and those like you. Are you with us or against us?

Ask Reyes if "our" federal government supports any extension on tax-payment and tax-return deadlines for native-born Americans - before any of his whining about "extensions" for illegal aliens!
That will tell you whose country Reyes thinks the U.S. really is!

The constant pandering to illegals is another example of the balkanization of the country.

Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., who chairs the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus, helped lead opposition to the measure. He said the U.S. government needs to do more to keep out illegal immigrants and shouldn't reward those already here. This guy is a hero!!! Maybe people are beginning to see the connection between lower wages, lost jobs, and immigrants. (Why are those here without pemission called "illegal immigrants"? If they're illegal, it shouldn't be assumed that they've immigrated. How about "unlawful residents" or something similar?)

Mega bumps for T Tancredo who was fighting the good fight before 9-11.Why should we make thing easy for those who are here illegally...who crashed our borders...screw 'em.
If we aren't ejecting them, then the next best thing is for them not to live here with peace of mind knowing they are legal and have successfully gamed the system. To repeat: Screw 'em, I got no use for them. They mock legal immigration and the USA.
Once more: Screw 'em! Go play your games in some other nation.

Now if we could only get the other 530 some odd dummies inside the beltway to think this way, we might stand a chance.

Infiltration will work if they keep at it. Americans are beginning to show up with sensable rules. Immigration must be controled..
