Over the last several weeks, the air waves have been saturated with various buzz words in the name of political correctness. We are hearing such terms as diversity and multiculturalism as if they are magic words that would heal our emotional wounds, and unify us as Americans after the horrific acts that were perpetrated on America September 11, 2001.
These words may not be as well meaning as the subscribers of this type of thinking want us to believe. Let us take a look and try to pin point what they actually mean, and why we see the term "The Melting Pot" vanishing before our eyes.
The word diversity literally means differing from one another or partially unlike in form or nature. Such a word being used does not unify nor does it help to blend America into a whole nation. Diversity is unlike the word unity. Unity means to stand together as one, as a whole. In many instances, the phrase "United We Stand, Divided We Fall" is used to express the need for unification within a country or nation. The word diversity is a 'touchy feel good' word put forth by an elitist group who come from the opinion that unity is bad and diversity is good.
Another soundbite buzz word we hear quite often is multiculturalism. This is a trendy word for an elitist who considers us a nation of mini-cultures which are unable to unify because of the diversity of many different cultures that come from other parts of the world.
What must be remembered is that over the last three centuries, people have come to America for a new beginning. They all brought with them a part of the world they came from, and it was wonderful. It made America what it is today. The legal immigrants came seeking jobs, freedom, and liberty. They blended into society and learned unique English and took advantage of a way of life they had never known. Through this blending of the cultures, America became known as "The Great Melting Pot." The legal immigrants came here for a new way of life. They came to America to be Americans so they could participate in the great experiment, and to seek a life they desired not known to others or that could be found in any other part of the world.
The elite and the media types have worked feverishly to replace certain ideas with these new words. As we read and listen, we find such words as individualism being replaced with collectivism, patriotism being replaced with diversity, and Americanism being replaced with multiculturalism. The melting pot is not considered politically correct because it represents a unified nation. A country that represents every nation in the world, united, which many discovered after the Revolutionary War.
What the elite want us to forget is that we are a unique nation and we celebrate holidays such as Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Veteran and Memorial Days, Mother's Day, Labor Day and we honor two of our presidents. We do have our own culture - most of it good and some not so good - but there is no such thing as a perfect nation or country.
This myth of multiculturalism in the name of political correctness is just that, a myth. If the continuation of such a myth is allowed to permeate the very fabric of our society, the term "The American Melting Pot" will be forever be gone which will be known as a national tragedy written about by historians in the future. We are a one nation, one country under God without any hyphens. We should consider it an honor to be called an American.
United We Stand, Divided We Fall Politically Correct and Hyphenated Americans will be the death of the Republic.
IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST ADAPT
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.
I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. Our population is almost entirely comprised of descendants of immigrants. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.
This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!
"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.
If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle.
Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. But, once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other great American freedom,
THE RIGHT TO LEAVE
Of course that is the ideology that keeps the PC crowd going. I would rather be told the truth, than be fed a pile of manure because someone, somewhere is upset because Santa Claus peed on their Channukha bush.
Here's where a brilliant idea comes in. We start demanding that people with common sense be recognized as a minority. Anyone with a room temperature IQ and above should be labeled a minority. You know why? Because it seems that the majority of people who fell for the whole PC nonsense are a bunch of F-ing Retards.
I feel I am discriminated against every time I go out of my house. I hear radio ads, and see billboards catering to the lowest common denominator. I see on TV programs that insult my intelligence, and make me wish I'd never gone to grade school let alone college. I feel as though the world was made for every child and every adult to function on the same level with plenty of safety and no consequence for idiocy. I feel a great insidious power is making the world safe for morons. We build safer cars so that an idiot can get into an accident while talking on their cell phone. We created no-fault insurance so that idiots don't have to feel stupid for running that red light. We've dumbed down our schools so that the average moron can get through high school and not have to read. We endorse EBONICS, and other ethnic tongues as a show of diversity training and multi-culturalism.
We are training a generation and future generations to be the managers of fast food restraunts and shopping centers. A very select few are being endowed with an education that will make them the future entrepreneurs and creators of the future of America. Teachers demand smaller class sizes so that smaller groups can be more easily brainwashed and indoctrinated into a world of lies and idiocy. We are short selling our children on their history of this land, because to challenge them might put too much of a burden on them. God knows we can't expect more from our children, because if they fail to meet the standard, their self-esteem might be hurt.
If you want people to get along in this country, teach them about the real history of this nation. Not the finger-pointing, anti-American history the special interest groups demand that they teach. If you want ethnicity, let people experience it at museums, and ethnic stores and restraunts. Don't demand we all cater to every minority. Equal but separate is idiocy. I was in the Army, and there I saw a lot of diversity. I saw a lot of idiocy there too. Too many people who grew up wrong, and ignorant of the outside world. I learned fast that we were all in BDU's and that made all of us the same. Americans should treat each other with the respect that Americans deserve. If you're from another country, and you don't want to adapt, fine. Just don't expect me to learn your language so that you can wait on me at a restraunt, or make me pretend that my tax dollars didn't buy you the new business you just started.
I and a lot of other people are a minority. We understand the stupidity of what is going on in our country, and aren't given a voice to speak our opinions. We don't have a group like the NAACP, or the ACLU, or the Democratic party looking out for our interests. I guess maybe we need to start one.
