Did all of 12 years in parochial school,altar boy,stations of the cross,ceremonial sacrements,named after a gunned-down priest,corruption,mafia affiliatiations,etc,etc,etc.The sacrements once each,confession,communion{by wafer},baptism and confirmation all at the working end of a tough nun.

My maternal papa was a devout and bible studying man who gave little credence to man;s religion,[we;ll get back here],The cultural aspect was just to live by man;s authority and not Gods {sola-scriptura}.
Finished school and became a United States Marine,all piss and shine attitude since I am the best example of pridefull,arrogant and go your own way the Bible displays.
Discharged 1979 and off to many engineering degrees and a need for success.
Material weath and earthly achievement was the key!

My family served our previous community faithfully though the arminian ghosts,[a former finney seed church],fought my God given soveriegn grace teachings constantly.
My former pastor/brother wanted to spoon feed the flock and kept a tight chain on this 66-point attack dog.

The aspect of religion is devoid of the intimate relationship with Christ a family member needs.My advice is to study the Word and grow that way.Go to GAMECOCK;s homepage,there is a neat church selector tool to help you find a church home.I strongly suggest reformed presbytarian.Many a saint cannot find a fundamental church close to where they live to be part and parcel of.
If you cannot be fed at church read the greats,spurgeon,edwards,knox,whitefield and on.
Piper,beggs,spraul and macarthur are good modern teachers.

On the thot of literal bible translation: I believe the new testament translation are bone accurate and the old are the spiritual lessons which support the new.On the subject of creation,I believe God created everything and whether the six day account is correct ,I do not care.On the subject of the flood,I believe God sent some through a great cleaning,whether the earth was completely covered in water,I do not care.What pains me is when so-called academics shoot holes in bible accounts to try to refute Gods existence.

Finally with regard to Paul,I believe my conversion was as close to his as any account.I was a terrible fellow who was by no means a seeker.God called and he followed.I think faith for the first eleven was easier,they lived with Jesus,could talk to him,see him,touch him,smell him,kiss him,saw him crucified,resurrected and asscend. Like Paul I know He lives and that is good enough for me.
