Christian. Native Floridian. Former CPA turned homeschool mother of four. Married for 23 years to same wonderful guy. Republican and conservative, but pay attention to issues more than party politics. I don't believe conservation and conservative are antithetical. I like what Theodore Roosevelt had to say about the environment:

Conservation means development as much as it does protection. I recognize the right and duty of this generation to develop and use the natural resources of our land; but I do not recognize the right to waste them, or to rob, by wasteful use, the generations that come after us. I ask nothing of the nation except that it so behave as each farmer here behaves with reference to his own children. That farmer is a poor creature who skins the land and leaves it worthless to his children. The farmer is a good farmer who, having enabled the land to support himself and to provide for the education of his children leaves it to them a little better than he found it himself. I believe the same thing of a nation.

I believe that mankind has a moral obligation to help one another, and this is especially true for Christians. However, I recognize that some assistance is not helpful but rather enslaving. Again, I like what TR had to say:

They neither forget that man does owe a duty to his fellows, and should strive to do what he can to increase the well-being of the community; nor yet do they forget that in the long run the only way to help people is to make them help themselves. They are prepared to try any properly guarded legislative remedy for ills which they believe can be remedied; but they perceive clearly that it is both foolish and wicked to teach the average man who is not well off that some wrong or injustice has been done him, and that he should hope for redress elsewhere than in his own industry honest and intelligence.

I believe in the sanctity of life and the sanctity of marriage. I believe a good sense of humor is vital to health and relationships -- I hope to get one soon.
